I need to get a copy of Vanity Fair.

I have always thought Grace Kelly was the epitome of beauty and elegance. My first two hermes bags were Kellys. I always feel ladylike, even in jeans when I wear them.

Obvious? Well, maybe a little, Closetstylista, but of course, we're all very happy to hear it (we just love to "steal" members from other forums!:graucho:)

Seriously, though, regardless of how many bags one has in their collection, one should always have a Kelly!

im sorry to ask again i have posted this question in the vintage photos thread but...... this forum does have the beautiful purpose of helping us out and since im a bit of a history fanatic i ask again.

was Grace kellys, kelly a 32 cm or 35cm or bigger when i see the bag im surprised because grace wore the bag as a day bag and not a travel piece as maybe audrey or ingrid did with them i can tell the size a bit better because the bags are sellier and also because they are croc. with grace the bag being retourne and box/barenia and used as a day bag through the 50s and 60s when women wore small purses its not easy to make out when the pictures are close to other bags because the other bags are so much smaller so.............. here are the questions.

Grace Kellys major or most celebrated kelly bag was 32 ???? 35 ?????

was the bag Box ????? or Barenia ????

how many Kellys did she own ???

did she ever own a croc birkin???

Grace's a 35 and mainly in boxcalf. All-leather Barenia Kelly at that time is rarely produced from what I do know unlike in the later years. Her Toile Kellys I presumed should either be Barenia, Peau Porc or Veau Naturale. She never owned a Birkin.

Thought so too. I thought Birkin was introduce way later than her time.

Grace Kelly died in 1982. Jean-Louis Dumas met Jane Birkin in 1981 - the bag was created 1984 based on an old design. So I think we can decide that Grace Kelly never had a Birkin.
