Hi lily! Count me as another whose first was a Kelly - my 1991 vintage BBK. I'll have to go find that magazine
tomorrow. I actually knew someone (MUCH older than me, of course who went to the royal wedding.

I can't imagine what an amazing experience that must have been, LGA! Do you remember what they had to say about it? We'd love to hear some "insider" details.

Lily - I don't know how I missed your thread this afternoon as I took too many mental breaks from work (at least pretending to work) to browse the forum.

I first learned the Kelly bag when I saw a photo of Grace Kelly's hiding her tummy behind the big bag. The first thing that came to my mind was 'how Elegant this bag is'. And I don't remember how many times I've watched 'To catch a thief' !!!

I'm running out to get my Vanity Fair tomorrow and I'll definitely give my very first Rouge Kelly a big hug tonite !!

One of my favorites, ckkpf, along with "High Society" too. Her wardrobe in both films was so fabulous.

I read that article too, lilyhermes - wasn't she the absolute personification of elegance? There is an exhibition of some of Grace Kelly's wardrobe, including the very first Kelly bag, and some costumes from her films, starting at the V & A Museum in London on April 17th, if anyone is in London around that time. I am definitely going to try and see it (it's on until September).

Yes, she certainly was, sushi, and there hasn't been anyone since (even the very elegant Jackie Kennedy) who has quite measured up.

I'd so love to see that exhibit, and I hope it travels to the US. Darn, it should since she was an American girl by birth and one of our national treasures.

LOL - me too, baggie. But, you know, the very best and most definitive article on Hermes was published by VF a few years back, as well. It's the best one I've ever read, and the photos are to die for.

I've read it so many times and copied it so many times for other H. lovers that it's nearly in tatters!

Incidentally I also read an article on Grace Kelly on my flight today. The Victoria and Albert Museum in London is running an exhibition on the late princess - Grace Kelly - Style Icon from April 17th onwards.

A little off topic, but I was at Barnes & Noble yesterday and found a lovely book on Princess Grace called A Touch of Grace: How to be a Princess the Grace Kelly Way. No new information but there are a lot of lovely photos.

Thanks for the info...Grace Kelly was a beauty and style icon, not many can be as chic as she was, ( maybe Audrey Hepburn IMO...)
As for the Kelly, I don't own one and my lifestyle is just too casual right now to be using it...

Thank you for posting. I have the VF in my post, but haven't opened it yet. My first H was a Kelly (black box sellier, gold hardware, 32) and even with the additions to a few H sisters over the years, it is still very special to me, and my favourite.
