I’ve always had my mind to want a Goyard Anjou GM in Black and Tan colorway. But I’m finding myself not wanting to spend a lot of money for that tote. I had a dream of obtaining the sky blue color. Which was never on my radar. After that lately though. LOL

I’m thinking the St. Louis GM size in sky blue is tempting since it not as expensive. My only set back is seems flimsy and the price is high for something that doesn’t look durable. I do love the slouchyness of the bag though. My other con is a laptop might ruin the bag. I would like to use it as a work bag some days.

But I adore the Faure Le Page Daily Battle. I also like the price point seem more reasonable. It look more sturdy and higher quality look. I haven’t took the plunge with not knowing how it would look on me. There no US presence. I want a big slouchy tote bag.

How about the Goyard Artois? I have the MM in blue and it’s held up amazingly well through daily use. Check out this thread - I posted a few pics there as well. I really would not hesitate to get another Artois.

I use a St. Louis as a collapsible extra bag for travel, but I don’t load it up

my mom loads up her FLP daily battle and isn’t really careful. It’s held up well

I don't know much about Goyard, but I really like the Faure Le Page Daily Battle tote. Love the gold accents and the handles. I would definitely pick it over the St. Louis.

I also use a St. Louis same as 880 for an extra travel bag and don't put too much into it, I would not put a laptop in mine because I don't think the straps and bag structure can handle it - longterm anyway. I also use it in warm weather/vacations. I really like my Artois MM that itspurseonal mentioned. I use it as a travel tote and would put a laptop in it, i could use it for a work, everyday bag as well. Sorry I can't comment on FLP, but the Artois has reinforced corners which has a similar look to the FLP you posted and also gives the bag some structure, it is not as slouchy as a St. Louis for sure.

I haven‘t gone to Goyard boutique…but I should look into it when I go Rodeo. :p

The St. Louis is specifically for lightweight items only, referred to as a beach bag sometimes. The boutique will tell you not to carry a computer in in. If you do, I'd do it very infrequently.
I carry my laptop in my Anjou but only seldom.
I use the Artois to travel with so I can schlep my laptop and it zips!

I don’t think the St. Louis and fair Le page tote are comparable. As others have suggested, the Artois is more of a workhorse tote. The corners are reinforced but the leather is soft and will likely show wear (leather rubbing) if you’re not careful with it. The faur Le page looks sturdy but I have not seen one in real life so I can’t comment on durability. Since you like the look of it, I would buy the FLP tote and use it to lug around my laptop. Then I would buy a St. Louis in the sky blue pm size just for fun! I used to own the gm size but it looked sloppy when not “stuffed” the right way. It looks best when you throw a sweater or shawl in it and I just don’t like to carry extra stuff in the summer.

The blue is beautiful and very versatile, btw. Looks great with denim!

I just actually made this call myself and went with the Faure le Page Daily Battle 32 Zip over either the LV Neverfull or Goyard options. Absolutely no regrets! The quality is amazing, and it's actually more robust feeling than my LV Keepall 50. I haven't yet had a Goyard in my hand, but I've seen the Saint Louis around a LOT and it always looks super thin and cheap, with the items inside poking out through the canvas really hard. This, even with my 13" MacBook Pro in it, looks super robust and none of that at all. For the price point between the three brands, I feel like Faure le Page is a very under-rated brand (or just under-the-radar still). Regardless, so glad I went the direction I did. The extras of the zip top and adjustable-length handles are perfect. I also got one of their new pieces (a pouch) in the woven fabric, love it!

I’ve had my FLP DB 37 for a short time, but so far it seems really well made, sturdy and I love the way the yellow accents look. I use it as a catchall bag (usually carry a purse as well) and it seems like it will hold up well to whatever I throw at it. I was worried about it not being a company with a US presence too, but no issues with that yet. I do put my laptop into it (16” MBP) and it can handle it with no problems.

I choose Daily Battle simply because the name sounds so damn cool. I mean, how often do you hear a designer call a simple little bag a "daily battle"? Sorry I am no help because I never seen these bags in-person.

But looking at the stock pics, I feel the DB looks better made with the leather corners and it looks sturdier. Definitely would work well with your work essentials and whatnot.

Good luck deciding!

Why not go for the Goyard voltaire instead? It has sturdier handles, comes with a shoulder strap and can carry several laptops...
