AGAIN>.. I AM SO SORRY!! I CERTAINLY didn't mean anything by my question... just wondering retail cost so I could get an idea of what I might want to pay etc.. I hope everyone knows that there was no mean intention at all!!!!
:crybaby:
I feel sooo bad ... I TOOO WANT TO BE LIKED!!!

It's okay, girl. I thought the same thing when I saw your question (What does that retail for?!) because I thought $58 seemed cheap for the purse. Don't worry! We don't think you're mean and we like you just fine!

Don't feel bad. You are justified in selling that item for any price you choose. If the buyer does not want to pay the amount, don't worry someone else will. Good luck selling your item!

Greedy is jacking the price up on items that are no longer available to take advantage of those who are wanting it so badly they'll pay anything to have it! I'm annoyed because I put up a punch tote, put it for just a little over retail (like you, about $20). Other totes are on there for over $100 over retail. I had a BIN and a gal hit it right away. This same gal has another punch tote with a BIN for way over retail so she can make some money off it. I have no doubt that my bag will end up being resold by her. She didn't want the bag for herself, she's going to resell it. I wanted to be nice and offer the bag for someone who couldn't get it, not rip anyone off. I know she can pay for it and do what she wants with it and I know that no one has to buy from her but it still annoys me. So, I guess I'm too sensitive too! LOL! I'm not made for ebay!

if people can't handle ebay prices, than i suggest they keep their noses out if it in my opinion. once you have an item it is yours to decide what to with

Like I said, it's the buyers business what they do with the item once they pay for it. And like I also said, I suppose I'm too sensitive about it but I don't think it's necessary to be so harsh. I don't think my being annoyed at the situation means I need to stay off ebay.

And Coach bag: I didn't mean to imply that you were being greedy at all. Putting a few extra dollars on the retail is fine, IMO. You have to box and wrap the item and it would have cost shipping or tax if someone bought it off Coach.com or a boutique. Good luck with your sale.

I'm going to apologize for this statement as coming off harshly. Whether the comment I replied to was aimed at me or not, I don't want to let my irritation with a particular ebay seller spill over into my everyday life. I can't control what others do; I try to live my life by controlling only myself. My expectations where that some lucky girl would find my reasonably priced tote amid the overpriced totes on ebay and she would actually be able to afford it. My expectations and reality clashed therefore I became frustrated and annoyed. Life goes on and I'll get over it. Once I receive payment for my auction and I ship it out it will be over and done with and I'll move on.

hey, guess what, it's called supply and demand. price what the market will bear, if people will pay for it, why on earth would you discount it?

simple economics

And it's really none of your business what the buyer does with it once she's paid. She can take it in the backyard and light it on fire, it's no concern of yours, you got paid, it was a fair deal, it's done. People don't sell on ebay to give strangers good deals. I make good money selling extra stuff on ebay, but if I find a good deal on a purse or something else, you bet I mark it up as high as I can to make money on it.

Like they say, it's not personal it's just business!!!!!

It's a free market. If someone has a problem with the price, then they don't have to buy it. - If there are plenty out there though, you might not be able to sell it. So, supply & demand. Good luck.

True. I guess I'm just used to people using a nicer tone in their posts in the Coach forum. And I can chose not to mark up items to give other gals a fair shake because I'm not out to make money. It's not a business to me. As I previously stated it's about my expectations and nothing else. I don't think I need to be reprimanded because of something I'm personally struggling with here and stated that I'd surely get over.

tlloveshim, i think you are well intentioned and you got taken advantage of...i would personally feel the same way. when i sell my coach on ebay i try to mark it as fair as possible because i love good deals and i think everyone does as well, i am not out to make money by jacking prices on hard to find items...itll be ok, we live and we learn.

Oh you're not greedy at all. I had a similar experience a few weeks ago. I listed a tote I bought at the outlet for 60 bucks cheaper than what I paid for it. I only used it a few times and was in great shape.

I had 5 people message me asking if I would sell it for less, the offers were $25.00 - 60.00. I listed the tote for 129.99. I was shocked.

But what even confused me more was that people were paying way more for fake bags on ebay!.
