Sure! I really was drawn to the mirus and the Mila Sister bags. Lili suggested the mirus as a first bag and your pictures really highlighted the wonderful design of the bag so I'll be ordering the M26 in olive calfskin. (have not yet discussed lining colors, but am happy to update if its of interest once I finalize)How exciting! Please share with us what you decide to commission!
I am still thinking myself with some options on the table:
1 — stop now while I’m ahead lol
2 — Himalayan Palm vs M26
3 — Gray Barenia M26 w/ matte black hardware and black stitching, sorta akin to a rock n roll vibe
4) Fanny bag in fauve Barenia GHW
5) I don’t know, stop and think for a while
I’m staying at option #5 for the time being. Enjoying my Palm Mirus in the interim.
Lili showed me the olive calfskin recently — it looks sooooo luscious. I think you are really going to love this. What hardware are you thinking?Sure! Well, it looks like option 2 is quickly dwindling away. I’m not certain I can handle the white part of a Himalayan yellowing over time. I feel the M harness would look best in white; thus, I’m concerned that it’ll highlight the yellowing process even more. First world problems, for sure….I'll look forward to hearing about any additions you decide to add! I love your choices (well, maybe not number 1)
I agree. I think for bespoke bags or other less known luxury bags, I need to make sure I really love it and will keep it forever before taking the plunge.Interestingly, this process has highlighted a few things, mainly further clarifying what luxury means to me, and it wasn’t as cliche as I thought:
— Sure, the bespoke process in and of itself is luxurious in that you’re getting exactly the design and specs that YOU want — this is obvious
— However, ironically, I recently learned that the resale value of a bag actually plays a huge role in the definition of luxury to me — admittedly, I did not realize this until I went through the bespoke process. I have always bought designer/luxury items I loved and never spent much time thinking about resale value….until yesterday, I had TRR at my house, and I have no shame when I say this — it was SOOOOO NICE to rehome items I no longer use (mostly bags and accessories from my 20s/30s). Of course, we can rehome bespoke items, too, but having significant resale value is an obvious advantage here. It won’t necessarily stop me from more bespoke items, but I don’t see myself giving up on traditional luxury houses in their entirety either (not that we need to anyway). I just will be highly vigilant on the bespoke items I commission — I’m already like this with traditional houses anyway. Having said that, I would love another Mirus and/or Fanny bag from Mila Jito (Lili) but will take the time I need to figure out the next step (if there is one, I do think there will be one though).
Can you provide a link so I/we can see what you are referring to? That way I can keep track of it on my bag, perhaps using it in the same way, and I can report wear and tear here. Luckily, it sounds like she does do some edge repair if needed.I saw Lili pulling the straps out to open the magnetic closure, I wonder if there is another way to do it because I worry about edge paint cracking over time. It happened to my celine luggage nano.

I think so too! I'm going with gold hardware on this. Should work really well together.Lili showed me the olive calfskin recently — it looks sooooo luscious. I think you are really going to love this. What hardware are you thinking?

I’m so glad you chose GHW — but I’m biased to GHW, especially with olive and dark green leather hues. It’s going to be so luscious — I cannot wait to see the finished product!I think so too! I'm going with gold hardware on this. Should work really well together.
I can understand this concern! I have experienced some yellowing in a small ombre lizard bag, and while I knew it would happen, still purchased and bag and have no regrets, I would hesitate as well on a larger "white area" for this exact reason.
From what I understand it happens to any white leather. I wonder how long it will take for my own Himalayan items to yellow.I’m so glad you chose GHW — but I’m biased to GHW, especially with olive and dark green leather hues. It’s going to be so luscious — I cannot wait to see the finished product!
Thank you for confirming my Hima concerns. I was aware of this with ombré lizard as I own multiple small accessories, but with further research here on TPF, I recently became aware of this similar phenomenon with Hima. With the large “white area” on the Hima, this is a huge setback for me in terms of going forward with this idea.
Hopefully never! From what I understand it happens to any white leather. I wonder how long it will take for my own Himalayan items to yellow.![]()
What “badmouthing” are you referring to? I definitely missed this on IG and it really doesn’t sound like him.Thank you for introducing us to this wonderful artist. Like you, Peter Nitz's aesthetic isn’t for me (plus, his recent badmouthings of Hermes in his IG as well as at Tanner Leatherstein's channel left a bad taste) although I am based in Switzerland, would love a bag with stamps 'made in Switzerland and Peter Nitz Zürich', and it would make it so much easier.
The Mirus is amazing: clean, elegant and functional. Just what I love in a bag. I've subscribed to her IG and would love a blue Barenia medium-sized Mirus in the future. Thanks again.
ETA: what’s the inside like? I notice a large pocket but is there more?
