Tom Brady Divorce Rumor: DeflateGate Scandal Reportedly Driving Tom And Gisele Apart

Tom Brady is reportedly headed for divorce, and the New England Patriots’ recent DeflateGate scandal could be to blame.

Reports emerged this week that Tom and wife Gisele Bundchen appear to be headed for a very costly split. Sources close to the couple say they have been torn apart by fighting and disagreements on how to raise their children, but the kicker could be the stress from the Patriots’ recent cheating scandal.

Tom Brady is currently in court fighting the NFL’s four-game suspension after a report found that Brady more than likely knew of a plot to deflate footballs to below league standards. Brady claims he is innocent, and along with the NFL Players Association has taken the league to federal court.

As a source told Hollywood Life, the scandal has also hurt the All Pro quarterback at home, creating stress in the marriage and bringing Tom Brady ever closer to divorce.

The outlet noted:

Tom and Gisele have reportedly been keeping their relationship drama behind closed doors, and Deflate-Gate had a major impact. Things have been worse for the couple following the controversy surrounding the scandal, where Tom was accused of deflating footballs for the New England Patriots‘ own gain during the NFL championship. This football season is especially stressful because of Deflate-Gate. Tom is really upset about everything that has gone down and it can’t help but put a strain on their marriage,” an insider told HollywoodLife.

The original report on the alleged divorce came from OK! Magazine, which claimed that Tom and Gisele got into a blowout fight the night of his birthday on August 3.

“As soon as they got home, things really came to a head,” the insider said. “They started bickering and it turned into a fight where they each dredged up every issue with the other that they’d been suppressing.”

The fight reportedly ended with Gisele handing Tom an ultimatum.

“Things have never been this bad,” the source added. “Gisele told Tom that if he didn’t make more of an effort, she might go back to Brazil for a few months to think about the future.”

The couple has reportedly been careful not to let the drama show. OK! Magazine‘s source claimed that Gisele had been ramping up her social media activity to maintain the front of a happy marriage.

If Tom Brady is headed for divorce, the report indicated that it could be quite a costly one. Despite reportedly signing a carefully drawn prenup, the couple could be looking at a divorce splitting up a total of $460 million.

This sounds bogus. Not that I don't believe they could split. But because of Deflategate? Ok.

Why would their divorce be costly? They're both insanely rich.

The sources are tabloids so we should certainly be skeptical. Celebrity divorce rumors are their bread and butter.

It mentions the "stress" from Deflategate, (i.e. Tom being in a pissy mood and it's getting on Giselle's last nerves). That is possible. If their marriage was already having problems, having a scandal doesn't help. Deflategate doesn't mean much to us, but it represents the legacy of Tom's career to him.

The NFL cares about football. A player can commit felonies outside of the game and if he's been acquitted or served his time then that's okay. But cheating within the sport affects the integrity of it and that's not okay to them.

There are fans who despise the NFL as an organization so much that they will always support the player no matter what he did.

Tom will always have those Super Bowls. What he doesn't want is an asterisk next to his name in the official records that mentions cheating.

I live in Massachusetts and have long suspected that Tom is gearing up to run for political office here someday. Not that politicians are averse to cheating (of any variety), but it certainly isn't something you want brought up over and over again during a campaign. Then again, given that "Free Tom Brady" is our new state motto, this situation is making him even more popular here.
