Ginger and I were not compatible, oh no!

Aw, too bad you hiked all the way up to WI just to say hello to Ginger and leave. Bummer. It is so much better, though, to leave a bag behind if she doesn't look right. Forcing it doesn't make it look or feel any better. (I LOVED the silver sophia in December but had to leave w/out her...just not a good match/look for me.) I know you will find another beauty...at a great price. You are a divine Coach shopper with great taste, and something will soon come along...and when it does, I cannot wait to seeeeeeeeeeeeeee!:p

I'm sorry that the ginger didn't work for you, I'm sure you'll find something else you will like....that's just like me and the sophia, I can't make that bag work for me if my life depended on it, lol....I'm glad to get a review from you though, I'm going to pick up my ginger tomorrow, so I'm hoping I will like it, if not I'll definitely leave without it, no sense in buying something you don't like

I hear you...after buying and returning the Peyton (old), Kira, and Harper I know full well that the Ginger won't work, so I'm not even going there. I do hope I've learned my lesson!!!

Wish they did, though. And I agree about the ergos...such great bags..I will never give up my large black tote w/giant turnlock!! The most comfy bag I own...and it's big, but it works...:smile1:

Sydney is a big bag and a bit boxy but I don't have any trouble keeping her upright and firmly on my shoulder! Ginger kept slipping and flopping over for some reason. My Ergo is an XL hobo and very big but she's secure and comfortable, it's just a good design for my body, I guess!

Gee, thank you! That's so nice! :urock:

I got a generous gift card for Christmas and I have been stalking the outlets ever since - but so far I haven't found a bag that I really want. I guess I will just have to keep that gift card in my (raisin Kristin!) wallet for awhile longer! :shrugs:

i'm proud of you for being able to realize a bag that just didn't work for you! i hope i can find one in the outlet to at least try myself, and if it doesn't feel right i hope i have as much sense as you to put it back on the shelf instead of buying it and letting it sit unused!!

Do you know if your outlet does a charge send. I will call in the morning to check anyway but was curious. TIA. The Ginger is exactly what I want. It's funny cause everyone loves Sophia and I tried to make her work but it totally didn't work for me.

I don't think so but I don't shop there often. You should go to the "wisconsin outlets" thread on the shopping page and ask the regulars.

I'm sorry to hear Ginger didn't work out, katev! It sounds like the reasons she didn't work for you are the same reasons she didn't work for me. I didn't care for the way she pitched forward when I tried to put her on my shoulder using the long strap. Carried on the arm she is GORGEOUS, but I generally arm carry only as a secondary option to shoulder carrying. I did learn to love arm carrying my anthracite Claire though, but I love that bag enough to do that. Claire's a slouchy arm carry if that makes any sense, with a sense of fluidity about her. Beautiful, delightful Ginger didn't suit me, sadly.

Devin, though, is another story :graucho:

mimomof5kids - PP doesn't do charge sends TMK, but I always suggest calling and asking anyway because things might change. Good luck!

I'm sorry it didn't work out for you with Ginger. I love the look of this bag, but I think it might drive me crazy if there were comfort issues. Hope you find another bag you can't live without!

katev- on the phone right now with pp! i've been debating about callling all week, but put it off cause i have been so busy with work - so thanks for the note - i need a pick me up.

I hope she works well for you; it would be nice to know that she is going to a good home.

That's too bad about Ginger. I also wanted this bag but noticed from reveals that the shoulder strap was long and not adjustable. Since I only like shoulder bags I'm sad to say miss Ginger would not work for me either.

When I was newly into Coach I bought a lot of bags that were not perfect for me. I got them just because they were pretty, or rare, or a good deal (or all 3 of the above!)

There's a few that I used right away and came to regret the decision and wish that I could have of returned them. And I have returned quite a few bags after stewing over them for awhile. Thank goodness for Coach's generous return policy! So far I have only regretted one return and happily I was able to rebuy the bag for the same price!

I've snipped the tags on others that have been sitting in the closet for awhile and for the most part I have been happy with those decisions.

Now I am trying to be more discriminating in my choices - but it can be challenging! I haven't purchased a "brand new" recent bag in awhile and this gift card is killing me. But I want to use if for a great bag (or bags) that I love and will be perfect for me (and I won't tire of quickly.)

One important lesson that I have learned is that "there will always be another great bag!" I used to worry that if I miss this opportunity I would regret it but that's usually not true.

Thanks for all the kind words, TPFers! Ginger was a disappointment but I know that I will eventually find a terrific bag that will make mefeel glad that I didn't make another mistake!

:tpfrox:

I have been wearing my new Ergo almost exclusively for 2 months and I don't even want to wear any of my other bags! I used some of my other bags a few times over the holidays but I was very happy to get back to my Ergo!

She's classically beautiful and incredibly comfortable! Coach got it right with that bag!

ITA...Love my Ergos !!!!
