Hi all! I’m new here 
a relative picked up a small flap for me at a dept store Gucci while she was away. I own a mini camera bag and the hardware on this flap is much more dull and has less of that antiqued look (if that make sense). Almost looks too perfect/gold in comparison to my camera bag and has less shine. It also has a strong chemical plastic smell... which is strange to me if purchased from the store.Any thoughts or input on the Marmont hardware is appreciated! Are there inconsistencies with the gold finish? It would be horrible if the dept store sold a counterfeit... but I guess it could be possible? (Photos are with and without flash)

I'm deciding to buy my first Gucci bag and I've decided that I want Marmont Matelasse. The problem I have it's that I can't decide which size should I get. I'm choosing from small and mini, I'm petite (only 5'1) and I'm afraid that small might look too big on me. Since I don't have any Gucci store nearby to try it out myself is there anyone willing to post how the bag looks like on? Any size will work.

The small is like a Chanel M/L, so not big at all and would be fine on any frame.
I’m 5’4” and here’s my mini.
I tried on both the mini and small and preferred this because I mainly use it as a crossbody. Plus I’ve heard there are less issues with the top of the flap looking pointy overtime with the mini size.

I’m your height and the Mini looked better in me than the Small. The Small Marmont looked too wide on me. Are you used to small bags if so I think you’ll like the Mini.

I am loving all the posts and pictures here! I love the look of the GG Marmont and am thinking of buying a card holder/flap bag/camera bag in metalesse leather. Is the leather cow hide and is it waterproof? I don't know what metalesse is. I don't want it if it gets water stains even by slight contact with water drops or sprays. So how water resistant is it?
