Thanks, guys! I did it the same way as lilyhermes - three loops. The Hermes one I tried in the store has two stirrup shaped metal pieces at either end and (I think) one fabric loop in the middle.

I cut the ribbon, folded it over twice (tiny roll) so there wasn't a raw seam, and stitched that. Then pinned it in place, a few stitches to the silk lining and voila! I think it would look just as nice over the right top as over a winter coat...

lilyhermes, thank you so much for the inspiration! It was super easy to do and here are some modeling shots. Can't wait to see yours! It can be worn over a sweater or with a winter coat...

Wow, mistikat, it turned out just great and looks absolutely wonderful with your scarf - is that Tuilleries? (If so, we must have very similar taste, as I have it in the black and gold color way as well.)

Thanks for the modeling shots too (the pressure is off my sister now to take a decent shot of mine!).

Do you think we should tackle a Birkin next?:graucho:

Oh Lily, I'm going to do this!! My SO wouldn't spring for the real deal but I think I even like this better! I love how you added loops along the back to hold the scarf in!! Great use of all that ribbon we have lying around! BRILLIANT!! (Mistikat, thank you for the action pics!!)

Wonderful, oregon! And, he can take the money he would have spent and put it towards a lovely H. bag instead!

Have fun with the collar.

All of these are fabulous!

I really think you gals have improved upon the design. The H one only has two hooks on it - and the scarf slips all over the place.

Ok here's mine. Lilyhermes I thank you!

Poshhoney, it looks great - a wonderful job. Some of you ladies were busy with the needle and thread last night, I see!

And, isn't it a great feeling to have made something from almost nothing. Enjoy it and wear it in good health.

(mistikat and I are now busy trying to figure out how to craft a Birkin! We'll keep you all posted.):p

But, Ranag, we wouldn't have been able to do it without your reveal and the "prototype." Thanks again for your genorosity in sharing your Hermes lovelies with us.:heart::heart:!

I agree it's thanks all round to ranag for the seed of the idea and lilyhermes for taking it that step further.

Now you have me thinking. Would a knitted Birkin be an abomination?! I am getting a "so bad it's good" vibe hehe. I think I hear a project calling! let me know how you and misticat get on too.

I will, Posh. A knitted Birkin would be hysterical! Can you imagine what Hermes would think of that!

Beautiful fur collar Ranag. I remember admiring it when you first revealed it.

I don't think your collar is lacking anything. I think they intentionally placed only 2 loops at the ends so that the scarf can attach to the ends and not go around the neck.

In fact, before this thread, I never even thought about the scarf going around the neck. I think its beautiful either way. ;)
