Thank you, Hermes Nuttynut. I can't take the credit, as Hermes thought of it first, and of course they do it much better than I can, but it is very versatile and so easy to do.
I might have to look for a black fur collar to "operate" on next!
OMG this is it for me! I just love it and you are clever!!! I tried one on and it was too fluffy for me. I like the shorter furs LOL. The most I can do is sew on a button but this looks easy enough. Really genius.

Well, Encore Hermes, if you can sew on a button, you're a better seamstress than I am. Mine always fall off!
It really is easy, and I think if would work with any type of fur. Even something short haired like beaver would be beautiful.

Your compliments mean a lot, and yes, I'll have to wear it for Christmas in Philadelphia, as cold winter days are few and far between in Atlanta.And, I happen to know that you've got quite a few of those Hermes ribbons hanging around your house too! (Quite a few new scarf acquisitions in the past few weeks, right?)
The scarf is Tout Cuir in the orange colorway. Believe it or not, I haven't even worn it and am finally glad that I can show it off.
Definitely, elle tee, give it a try. You have nothing to lose! And, if it doesn't work, just snip those ribbon loops right off.
Actually, I pinned them on before stitching - just to make sure it would work before getting the needle and thread out, which I'm basically allergic to!
