I don't think I've ever seen a picture of the original Hermes fur collar. Was it designed so that you could wear it with scarves? Once again, Lilyhermes, I must congratulate you on your creativity!!! :D

Here's the original inspiration, merrydish, compliments of Ranag and Hermes. And, thank you once again!

"All of these are fabulous!

I really think you gals have improved upon the design. The H one only has two hooks on it - and the scarf slips all over the place."

I sewed one about five years ago along with cuffs to attach to jackets and outerwear w/ interchangeable satin sashes.
Now I will try twillies on each end and carres .. there are endless possibilities!

Thanks for satisfying my curiosity, LilyHermes. I always wondered what the Hermes one looked like and my verdict is in......yours wins!!! Seriously, your concept of numerous vertical ribbons to hold the scarves in place makes much more sense and I'll bet is much more wearable. I also love your idea of using Hermes ribbon!

Oh, thank you, merrydish. I do love that metal equestrian hardware, but H. really should have put some sort of pass-through loop in the center, as well.

And the ribbons were just a lucky subsitution for the elastic loops I was thinking of first. I didn't have any elastic on hand, though, but I did have lots of Hermes ribbon and was anxious to get going on the collar.:p

I really like the look of the Hermes ribbons, Lilyhermes, much more than the metal loops used by Hermes. Much more special and elegant. Guess I'm glad you did not have elastic handy, LOL.

Too true, with metal how does it keep the silk in place (you can only possibly loop it in the front), I love your idea of the H bolduc ribbon too!! Way better :smile1:
Only slight concern with the raised words on the ribbon affecting the silk...

Ranag had problems with it too, dreamdoll, and I could certainly see why, as there was no center loop to hold the scarf in place. I think MaiTai's five loops are even better!

I thought about that too, dd, but the silk slides through on the back of the ribbon, which doesn't have the raised lettering. I only wore my collar a few times last winter but didn't encounter any problems. I'm much more lethal to the scaves with a rough cuticle!

 All too true about the cuticles!
