THANKS All for your comments re. the tomato sauce saga! Unfortunately a lot of prejudice still around. Last year in Barcelona I was hounded down the Ramblas for wearing a fur coat !... I felt so awkward I removed the coat ,turned it inside out to carry and spent the rest of the evening shivering !! Haven't dared venture out in fur again!! Maybe it's me ,and I just attract all the ill wishers! :wondering

Being in a MAJOR dither about fur collars this morning, I just found this thread, and can't believe I missed it in the first place. Lily, can I get the scoop on the dimensions, etc?? Cause you know, I must have one.....preferably today if at all possible!!!

You're too funny, shelby! I put this thread up last December, and I don't think you were with us then.

I'm not wearing it today and will have to search the thread for the dimensions, but I think I posted them some place towards the front. I'll have a look in a minute.

We did have fun, and a lot of ladies went in search of furry critters to turn into collars. I think moumou did an outstanding "couture" job with hers, and good heavens, I just found our Hermes muse, MaiTai wearing one on H it Up this morning. She's really perfected my original model. Now, why does that not surprise me!

I'll get back with the dimensions as soon as I find them, shelby!

Awww, BBK, you're much too kind. I'm blushing away like crazy here. They are a wonderful accessory for the winter monthsm though, and certainly give us another way to utilize our scarf collection (you know driving down the "cost per wear!"):D

I found that they look great over a simple jewel-neck cashmere pullover, and put one on a simple high-collared wool jacket, and you've got something suitable for a holiday party.

I did find the length, shelby, it's 22". But I think mine was a bit longer than it should have been. MaiTai's and dreamdoll's look to be a better length and closer to the actual H. collar.

I'll have to measure the width for you tonight when I get home, but just guessing, I imagine that it's about five inches.

Thank you for the info, Lily, I'll put my thinking cap on, but I'm sure I'm going to end up buying one rather than making one. I do a lot of needlework, but I can't make anything the least bit practical!

I don't think I've ever seen a picture of the original Hermes fur collar. Was it designed so that you could wear it with scarves? Once again, Lilyhermes, I must congratulate you on your creativity!!! :D
