:nogood::nogood: No, no Bienchen, go and see our cabana party last winter and you'll understand who is the real :queen: of the party here! she is not innocent at all!:nogood::nogood:

(Lily why are you accusing tillie, Diva and me? who was the hostess of a crazy fur party on the beach in the middle of the winter? remember the nuns and the squirrels and Omar the tent maker? I recall you even made us go all the way to England to have hot wine with HM :lecture: )

Oh, furbies, I just read the very sad news that Jean-Louis Dumas passed away yesterday after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease.

In my mind, he was class personified and guided Hermes to unparalled heights. He was a consumate marketer and businessman and always a gentleman.

Let's pause for a moment to honor the man and his vast achievements and wish his family strength and peace.

In remembrance, I'm attaching a photo of him with his beloved wife, Reya, taken during happier times and a very special letter I received from him back in 2002. I've always treasured it and will continue to do so.

You deserve your rest, Mr. Dumas, and may your heaven be painted in H. orange.

Beautifully said, lily!

Birkinmary, gorgeous fur.

You girls just party non-stop me thinks, cabana boys, Rafa, I think the fur is just a code for something else....

In case you need some token fur, here goes my look for today (near freezing in UK): Ms Foxy with Maillons

Bienchen, just what are you accusing us of?? We just like fur (although my DD would disown me for that) and good-looking men -
what's wrong with that?:graucho:

You're lucky it's freezing over there - we got a taste of summer today and I didn't like it at all! Too hot for a scarf, even a twilly!
Ms. Foxy and Maillons look made for each other - well done!:yahoo:

Thank you, hair-mess. I'm blushing, of course!

Before my mother passed away in 1999, she told both my sister and me to take a part of our inheritance and buy something very special to remember her by. I thought that an Hermes Kelly was a befitting remembrance.

So, in 2002, I finally bought one and for many days just stared at it and held it and looked at it, stitch by stitch; inch by inch. It was so perfect in every way - I couldn't even bear to carry it, and I just had to thank Mr. Dumas for providing such a wonderful inheritance.

I wrote the letter in October and sent it off to Paris. Several months passed, and I just kind of forgot about it. Then one day just a couple of weeks before Christmas, I came home to find the letter (with a hand-addressed envelope), and I was so thrilled - thrilled with the letter and thrilled all over again with the Kelly and with Hermes.

And, eight years later, I'm still thrilled with Hermes and the fact that there is a company that still exists making goods of unsurpassed quality. Luxury goods, yes, but legacy goods, as well.

What a great story, lily! And I'm sure you will love that Kelly forever, both for herself and for all she represents.:hugs:

Oh, no accusations, birkinmary! There was just a bit of Spanish being spoken there for a while, so I thought you might be trying to sneak in some sort of code (of course, what I was really afraid of was that you might be assigning MY Francisco to LGA!).

And, yes, if I'd paid better attention in Spanish class . . .!:p

Well, LGA, I have to be perfectly honest here - that original Kelly was replaced a few years later by another Kelly, but a Kelly is a Kelly, is a Kelly.

The color and size of the bag may have changed, but my sentiments and admiration for Hermes haven't. Fortunately, some things never change.

Well, OK - at least it got you started down the orange path to financial ruin...:graucho:

Good morning furry ladies! :sunshine: It's 8:00 in Buenos Aires, nice warm weather (although the forecast man said it's going to be cold beyond Thursday :yahoo:) so I'm going for a run with a friend in the park, have a great morning!
