I'm not positive about this, but I think another tpf'er said that they weren't for sale, they were given to big fashion people at this fashion week thing in Hawaii. I might be totally making this up, but I'm pretty sure that is what someone said. we had a thread about this is the ebay deal forum maybe 2 months ago when another one was on ebay and someone knew a lot about it

The seller said she bought it retail and there were tags on it...oh well. Out of my league at the present moment anyway. I just used up all of my Coach allowance for the next few months! My hubby would KILL me if I had bid on this!

ok, lovely Hyacinth corrected me...

here's what she said about it:
"I wasn't the one who explained the details about it but I'm pretty sure it was sold, you just had to either be the first ones in line or have a special coupon to be able to buy it. For some reason the price of $698 sticks in my head."

So it wasn't any more than the reg satchels, it's just such a ltd edition that they can charge more for it.

What's the link to the auction you all are talking about? I had put the other one in my watch list because I was curious what it would go for, but the one I had saved I'm showing sold with a BIN of $1200 on the 18th. So were there two up at the same time?

No buying- unless I end up finding oil in the backyard this weekend. Not likely, seeing as I live in MI... *sigh*

Hey I actually read that someone in the Northville or Livonia area thought they had oil in their backyard, funny you should say that....That would be so cool. lol

She said she had two of them. I asked her for pictures of the second one since she had used the same pictures. I can understand using pictures of the same NWT item, but for something like this, where I'd have to lay out a lot of money, I would want pictures of the item I would actually receive. She said she couldn't email the pictures to me, because it the purse was all wrapped up. She sent me some links to the articles written and said she would send me anything else to show authencity.

I decided to give it a pass.
