Furla Candy Collection

My local Furla store has huge sales all the time. For example, a couple of weeks ago I picked up an awesome royal blue hobo for 50% or 60% off.

It was only $200, in the softest leather and made in Italy. Retail was about $500. I would hold out. $200 seems way too expensive.

I cannot find the orange bag in stock anywhere! Has anyone been able to find one?

I know that they had the orange one in dillards.com a while ago, but I think that might be gone now. I live in the UK and its totally sold out online.

I came across a seller on ebay selling the orange and the pink I think. If you want her seller ID to contact her I would be happy to PM it to you :)
I don't think she relisted but the bag didn't sell. It was brand new.
Let me know if you want her details!

Yea, it would be great if we could get it on sale, but as Seattle Shopper has pointed out, its basically sold out now already, so I doubt it'll still be in stock by the time sales roll around.

I understand that some people don't really want to shell out $200 for some rubber, but i think I'm justifying this more along the lines of shelling out the money to buy an idea or a concept thats just hot right now :)

I got a Candy in Pink, it will be my parents birthday gift for me, so it's still in the bag and haven't wore it out.
I got mine for 179€ at a Furla shop back in February, it was the last pink one (a lady cancelled her reservation and I was next on the line) and I was told it was sold out everywhere, even Italy. So getting one online may be the only option?
I haven't seen any other colour for sale either, lately.

It's like a Speedy 35 in size and shape, I think.

It is a little heavy but not too much (the rubber is thick), can be easily carried around on the arm. And it's not as clear as you may think at first. I have put several basic items inside and you can tell there's stuff there but can't really tell what.
This with artificial lighting. I don't know if it becomes clearer with sunlight, but indoors it's dificult to tell what's inside the bag (red and green are even less clear than the rest).
An option for those who don't like having their stuff showing is putting everything in a pouch inside the bag.

The smell is bad but I'm hoping it will fade with time and usage (*crossing fingers as rubber smell gives me bad headaches*).

Fingerprint marks do not stay but hair does! Even the tiny hair from the white pouch the Candy bag comes in gets glued to the bag!

Hoping this helps :)

They are so cute in the pictures, but I had the chance to see them IRL this weekend at the Bay in Vancouver, and wouldn't get one. They are quite heavy, and the rubber was really gummish, like they would melt in the heat. The display models had tons of smudges and some patches of gummy residue where they'd been handled a lot. I hope they wear better for people who have bought them!

I love the shape, and colors, and was tempted at first. Then I thought they were so much like my Beijo collection I adored years ago and sold all but 2 of, and that I'd done this already. I see the appeal tho

200 seems a bit much for rubber, but they would make a great beach bag. I'm huge fan of Furla. glad they finally put some color into their collections. I would definitely go orange, green, then pink.
Well, maybe you'd like these. They came for free with a couple of Isomers anti-aging collections. Along with the bags I got Vitamin C Serum, Matryxil and Wrinkle Viper, amongst other things. Okay, I just use them a room decorations; I know they aren't in the Furla Candy league (but you can't beat the price).

I just bought my first Furla Candy bag some days back. :D

I was actually surprised at how much I liked the bag. Most of my bags are either Balenciaga, Prada, or LV - so materials are leather (lamb, saffiano, etc), some nylons, and coated canvas. I've never even thought of owning a bag made of rubber - so I was really quite surprised at my reaction to the Candy bag. I really like it!!!

I know some people (including here in TPF) who are not crazy about the Candy bags, and in fact look down on them. I suppose I can see why some people would (due to material, due to them being see-through, due to them being trendy, etc) - I was surprised that I liked it as much as I did too, and not because I look down on it or anything - just that if you saw my other bags, they are just very different from the Candy bag. Some people I know (even hubby and our daughter) were also taken aback by my purchase - "I did not know you liked those kinds of bags!" (though dear daughter was delighted since she liked it a lot). But you want what you want, right? Sometimes, you cannot explain it. :D And as for the bag being "trendy" - that never mattered to me before (whether or not bag is trendy; It bag status; out-of-fashion bags; etc) - why would it stop me now? I suppose I was just lucky that the other bags that caught my fancy before were considered "prestigious" or at the very least - "okay/decent/acceptable". But I never aimed for any of that. ;)

So here is my Furla Candy bag, in magnolia-rose/pink and croc-embossed. My pics don't do it justice (sadly, my pics never seem to do my bags justice, but whatever :P ). I also included the pic of my bag from the Furla site (that would be the last pic) which gives a much better view of the bag.

So far, so good. It feels sturdier than I thought it would, and I love that it's a hassle-free bag. My area gets a lot of rain regardless of season (which is why I also have some nylon bags).

Just thought I would share, since I chanced upon this thread, and it just so happens I just got my Candy bag some days ago. :D
