So, I'm currently living in France and will be heading home at the end of July. I want to buy a bag from a French label. I was thinking Gerard Darel after seeing the 24 heurs featured on BagSnob.com, but I'd like something a little bit less known, on a similar price point (less than 500 euros in general). Does anyone know any companies that are almost exclusively French? I'll be in Pais and Rennes. Thanks ladies!

How about Lancel? They are a classic French label with their flagship store in Paris.
I just bought a beautiful bag from them in Nice, it's called Easy Flirt and it's a bright red. Absolutely gorgeous.

I checked them out and I do like them, but I was kind of hoping for something from a smaller, independent house - like maybe the French Rebecca Minkoff or something. :graucho:
Just something that's a little off the beaten track.

Here's a pic of my recent purchase....though I believe that it is at least an 07 model, if not older......
Great leather, soft lambskin, hardware is top quality.....I'm totally in LUV w/this bag. Also, like you wanted, something under the radar.

Another bag company would be Velvetine....made in France.

dcblam, I love that Abaco bag! (And your bedroom - so chic!) I'm definitely going to check them out.
I'm currently checking out all of the other brands mentioned, too. Thanks so much girls, I've got so much choice now! :roflmfao:

I'm french and I would say like others Lancel, but maybe you can have a look at MacDouglas or Longchamp .... they have good quality leather bags.

Clothes brand "Caroll" has also some leather bags, I purchased one during the winter sale in January, it's a bit heavy and big, but the leather is really nice.

If I may ask, where do you live in France ? I'm from Lyons.

I'm French too and I would say Le Tanneur! They have some very beautiful bags for a correct price (the famous Matilde bag is about 300 euros). I also like Lancel but it's a little bit more expensive. There is Longchamp as well but it's well-known everywhere...
