Fox in Action

I know what you mean. I've seen coats described as silver fox but it looks like crystal fox to me. Or coats described as fox or coyote but look like Tanuki. I saw the coyote coat that was listed as fox. I would love to find a sable that was labelled as mink! That would be like finding the elusive pot of gold!!

A lot of furs are miss labeled. My Tom Ford skunk was listed as fox, my Gucci Fisher was listed as fox, my Opossum was listed as a mystery fur lol. There are more but this is just off the top of my head
It seems when sellers don't know the fur they just say it's fox.

I have just put a bid in on a fur bit tbh I don't think I will win the coat. Anyway, here is to a possible fox acquisition. It might not fit well hence my reluctance to bid much more. View attachment 3966017View attachment 3966018
There’s a really pretty one modeled by an older lady that no one has bid on and she’s listed it 3 times. Starting price is $199.99 no reserve, and you’d likely be the only bidder. Want me to pm you the deets?

LOL I bet they would be trying them on too

Thank you
The China ones are all pretty similar, they may all come from the same source. It is very nice for the price.

Welcome back
I'm losing track myself. I think this one was my most recent. I got it from a furrier I found on the internet, he's pretty legit. Shipped fast and good prices, only thing is he said he cleaned it but I beg to differ.

Summer time is sad, I go down and pet them and give them hugs.

I don't think anything is as pretty as a white fox, it's so feminine and flattering. I'm so glad it came out this clean and it all worked out. Good thing I didn't send it back!
Find a white fox! It will look gorgeous on you :girlsigh:
Thank you!!! I know I’d love to go down and just pet all your furs!!! ;)
I’m currently looking for a white fox :P

Oh wow this is dreamy!! It looks so lush and thick! Can't wait to see it

Oh my 70, not good! I think you sent it my way, we have 62 coming up. I'll just stay in that day lol

Thank you
I was cuddling it all night. It's like the joy of a pet without the work lol
It does look lush and thick, I can’t wait to snuggle into it!!!

Can't wait to see your mod shots. Is that the exact fur you are getting? I.e. it's not a stock Photo? It looks so nice.I love tails! A little Great Gatsby perhaps? How does it look from the back? Are the pelts just sewn together? - lovely. What a collar! Love it.
The coat pictured is one I bought in December, I ended up gifting it to my mom. The seller is awesome, all the coats are modeled by her or her children, ie not stock. You receive the exact coat pictured!!!
Here’s my most recent purchase from her, I haven’t gotten it yet, but I’m sure it’ll be lovely!

Replacing the lining in a coat is expensive. I think a lot of furriers are embroidering your name on fabric that matches your coat lining, and sewing it over the old monogram, creating an interior pocket.

True it is expensive. I found a furrier's website not long ago with a price list, and to replace the whole lining was 700+.
I don't pay attention to monograms, they're hardly noticeable. I think nearly all of my vintage furs have them, never gave them a second look.

I really don't mind it either. But at some point, I am going to put my own name or initials in all of my fur items. My fox jacket is the only one that has my initials monogrammed in it. There was no previous monogram when I bought it. I took it to a place that does alterations and embroidery. They opened the seam in the lining to do it, and you can tell which seam was opened, because of how it was sewn shut. I'm not crazy about how it looks, but no one can see it but me.

Actually, my mother has an embroidery machine now, so she could do it for me. :-)

Most of the other items have the vintage letters that are sewn in. I'm sure it's easy to remove those with a seam ripper. The mink coat I just bought has the original owner's first name, middle initial and last name. So I googled her and read her obituary. She was an exec at a local company, and passed away last fall. I think it's interesting that I can know a little bit of information about her.
