I order my skye smoke from shoptwigs.
I received the bag today BUT I am returning it. The bag is gorgous and the leather is just wondeful but there were quite a few scratches on the straps. I suspect it was a return because right after I ordered it, it was out of stock. Which probably means I got the last one somebody return??

I just cancelled my order, i think the bag is gorgeous, but I dont love the double straps

I cancelled my Olivia pre-order, too, because of the double shoulder straps and also because of the way the straps are designed. The straps aren't on the typical O-rings so if you're not using them, they kind of stick out and flop over ... not too elegant, in my opinion. I'm really disappointed because the leather does look really nice and the suede lining sounds so wonderful.

I don't love the shoulder strap either. Don't get me wrong, I love the shouder strap functionality but the way its design it props up in an odd position when the straps are not in use.
It is also hard to unzip the bag entirely from end to end since the straps swivels it gets tangle up easily, if that makes any sense.

It's funny, there's another new designer who'se got an 'Olivia' bag. Her name is Sang A. It's hard to find anything about her online, but I saw this B&W lizard bag in Elle this summer and did some research. Turned out it was called 'Olivia!' I found out Neiman Marcus will be selling her clutches this Fall. Olivia is the last column on the right if you visit the website. SANG A

Well, I got my Black Skye today and she is gorgeous!

The deception is the size: I had originally ordered the Olivia and then based on Milton's size comparisions changed it to a Skye, which is smaller, BUT it can actually hold all my stuff! I normally like BIG bags, but admit they can be bulky, so I was surprised when this little baby packed a punch with what she can hold. The lining is this gorgeous sage green suede. The double-strap is kind of cumbersome, but doesn't bother me and in fact think I will like when I want to carry it over my shoulder. The leather is soft and supple..again very nice.
So all in all I am impressed for the price of this bag with all it has to offer. The Olivia would have probably worked for me too, but I have a lot of big bags and this one is a nice change for me.

Here's the email I got from the purse store...

"We heard from Gryson's showroom and the bags have landed in the US. We were advised they will begin shipping immeadiately. We should get your bag in the next day or two and we will send it out upon arrival."

Can't wait! BTW, are the straps detachable on the skye, Jlmrocks?

Bag Lover - I ordered my Black Skye from NM last week and received it on Thursday. I had pre-ordered a Chocolate Skye, which NM cancelled on me 7/28, so then I reordered a Black on instead. But happy I did.

Greenie - the straps are detachable by just unbuckling them. , then the swivel hinged buckle stays attached to the bag.

I finally saw Gryson bags in person at my local Neiman Marcus today, they are very nice; they are worth their price. The Fashion Island (Newport Beach, California) location just received Olivia in Chocolate, Military, and Smoke. I was hoping to find Skye & Ava, but my SA Tiffany only found Olivia in their store book.

Smoke (dark charcoal) looks like Black from certain angles.
In case anyone here wonders, these bags are made in Italy.

Ooh la la! Wonder if the Beverly Hills Neiman's has them? I'm heading down there next week... I'm sorely tempted to get one, but I really need to feel it in person. Anyone know where they can be seen IRL in Los Angeles?

In LA, you can see them at Kitson, Intuition, or Satine. Nicole Ritchie got a chocolate Olivia bag at Kitson.
also, the girls at Calypso came up with a great way of hiding the shoulder straps if you don't want to use them. if you swivel the hinges, you can put the straps around the outside of the bag and snap them up in the bottom strap.
