Safin1, here's a picture of Black Rachel (a longer version of Skye) from NM online. Yup, Lexi looks like MJ's bags. The designer Joy Gryson was "director of design and development of handbags and accessories for Marc Jacobs and Marc by Marc Jacobs, she was a driving force behind the brand's must-have Stella, Sofia and Zoë silhouettes. Now she is translating that know-how into her own line, called Gryson." =)

Hi Bag.lover. I ended up preordering a black Skye from NM. Thanks for showing me that pix of the black Rachael. I think that the black with gold is nice. I decided to just preorder before they sell out since chocolate has sold out already. I also preordered a black Lexi from Shoptwigs since no one else is offering the Lexi on the website. However, I am unsure if I will like the Lexi. I hope that the shoulder strap is not too long. I really do not want a messenger style bag. The person on the phone has not seen the bag yet. Or maybe I should get the Sophie instead.

The Lexi is not a messenger style bag, the strap is long enough so that you can wear a coat, but it sits nicely under the arm. Sophie is more of a doctor bag, but you can get it over your shoulder also.

Thanks. Maybe I will just stick with this preorder for the Lexi. I can always return it if I do not like it. Shoptwigs only has a 7 day return policy. That's what the lady told me. I just wonder why no one has the Lexi except Shoptwigs. Maybe BG and NM didn't order it cuz they didn't think it would sell.

Safin1, I am thinking about Ava (smaller version of Sophie) as well. The leather looks so nice, I can see it as a formal/dressed up bag for work.

According to several SAs/Managers, department Stores' buyers tend to get a selective group of items for their stores only -- tend to be more conservative styles/colors than boutiques; Nordstrom buyers didn't get any Quilted Ursula Elise and Blush Quilted Ursula Zip Clutch.

It's good to know that we have more choices in terms of styles and colors from shoptwigs. If you have questions about Gryson bags, you can call shoptwigs & ask to speak to someone who might be able to help you (their buyer & owner have seen the bags).

I have never pre-ordered a bag without even seeing it in person before. Hopefully, Gryson bags will meet and/or exceed our expectations. =)

I had several bad experiences with mail-order purchases: Received 2 defective Blush Elise (Black Ursula Elise was perfect though) from NM online, stained bag from Shirise, scratched hardware on Blake (issue resolved though). I am nervous about purchasing bags without being able to inspect them beforehand now, I'm definitely crossing my fingers this time. =)

Personally, I prefer shoptwigs' 7-day-return-policy. We can get our money back for returns, many boutiques offer store credit only. The 7-day period is sufficient for us to decide whether the bag's a keeper. I hate seeing flexible return/exchange policies of big department stores (like NM or Nordstrom) being abused by buyers who return worn bags. Strictly my 2 cents. =)

Hello everyone! This is my first post. Just wanted to share my excitement over pre-ordering the chocolate Olivia from Neiman about 20 min. ago. I can't wait to see the bag and just hope I don't kick myself later when the other colors come out, (the "smoke" and "camel" colors are especially intrigueing to me - can't wait to see them!) but with the choc Skye sold out at Bergdorf's and everyone saying it will be October until the next shipment comes, I didn't want to wait! :amuse:

bag.lover: I agree with you on that 7 day return policy. You are right it should be sufficient enough to know if I will like the bag or not. I do like NM and Nordstrom return policies, but the whole issue with people using the bags and then returning is not good at all. That really is unfair. I think they should only take things back if the tags are still attached. I really don't order without seeing a bag first, but then again I did that for the putty elise. Now, I am doing that with the Lexi and the Skye. Thanks for your comment about why certain stores do not order certain styles. I hope Lexi will be a nice bag! Atleast shoptwigs will take it back if I don't like the Lexi bag. I am sorry about your bags that have been defective or messed up. I hope that Shirise will fix this problem. Hopefully, you can just return it. Or even store credit. Well, I don't know if you want to get anything else from them. So yeah, I hope that these Gryson bags will be as nice as the pictures.

Me too. =) I've been wondering if I should get Black Ava from shoptwigs now rather than wait for Skye to come first. =) I will get another Blake if Amethyst (purple) looks nice in person, I haven't seen this color yet. Hmmm.....too many wants..... tPF is certainly not helping. =)

Received your Black Bowler yet? Hopefully, it's perfect; perfect bags are harder to find when stores are sold out of them.
How about Putty Elise, is she a keeper for your mom?

I'm absolutely done with Shirise, I don't think I'll be buying from them anymore.
