I came across this Japanese purse today, and really love the unique look! Looks like this site sells lots of fabulous one-of-a-kind handmade stuff. maybe this is the only one available...get it or not get it...

you can find the maker of this bag on trunkt.org along with other up and coming designers of bags and other things. Take a look

Oh, THANK YOU FOR THIS SITE!!!! I Love artisan things but never have the opportunity to go to fairs and shows to scout the area talents (and I live in the DC area, I'm sure there are TONS of great designers! )

This is now bookmarked and I'm drooling over the beautiful products and the TALENT!

Thank you for this site as well!! im now looking at a rajul paris bag!!

depends how you define handmade? A lot of benchwork can go into a bag all done by hand and the bag is sewn together by machine. Most people would call this handmade. Or like my bags no machinery is used at all they are all hand stitched as well. I would describe Tods as handmade, as very few people handstitch any more. Possibly a better description would be handcrafted.

Dh and I were celebrating our anniversary with a night out and about and dinner. We decided to go to old town Alexandria along King Street and we went into this one shop called Art Craft or something like that. Oooo, just found the website for the place! here it is: http://www.artcraftonline.com/touroldtown.html

Anyway, there were some beautiful tapestry bags there and I got to thinking. isn't it classier and more unique to have a handcrafted bag than one that anyone on the street can pick up at the mall or TJ Maxx?

Now, mind you, I was using my BELOVED Andrew Marc Faith bag and it stayed on my shoulder the WHOLE night - with and without a jacket, so I'm not complaining about my nice bag, but... I really love artsy bags and jewelry too!

Is there room for both in my life when I don't like to switch out bags all the time???
