I think the movements are the same, faces slightly different, however the second one clearly states it is no longer waterproof! Steer clear...what else could be wrong with it? These watches do not seem to be well maintained. Not sure this is the best website and if you are looking to buy pre-owned you should do a lot more research on the brands’ websites, watch stores, etc. so you do know a good deal when you see it.

What is a used good site? I have very little time to research anything!

I started a new thread because I truly have narrowed down what I like and I need to make a decision and move on with my life!

I have no other watches. So my brain tells me to get a classic, but I just love the white J12. So I have included it in the short list - although I am having a hard time deciding whether I like the black numbers for some contrast or the diamonds instead of numbers look. How wearable is it out at night? Is it very much a sporty day watch?

I have given myself a 4k budget, which means used for most watches I like and I don't really know what is a good deal or what will hold it's value well.

These are what I like:

And then the J12 in white with either diamonds or black numbers.

I know it's my choice and opinion, but I don't want to miss anything or not think of something and I am really frozen so opinions welcome!

I am thinking maybe a silver would be better as my only watch as maybe goes with more? Is white ok for formal events?

This is my short list:
Chanel J12/Dior VII (white)
Breitlind Starliner/Oceane
Cartier Tank Francais
Rolex Date
Christian Dior Christal
I will have go over condition and sizes, but those are available and I like them all. Confused! Is there anything I should know that will help with a decision?

Is 38 mm out of the question? Does anyone with very small wrists wear that size? Would it be "too much" for formal occasions? Not super formal, but like a wedding or cocktail party.

Husband favorite is the 30mm Breitling Starliner Any pros or cons to that one? I have never heard of brand, although after researching here I gather it's a quality one.
Here is a Tag Heuer Formula One 37mm. I don't think it's too big and easy to read. Tag Heuer makes great watches...several with diamond markers in your price range, brand new. They also offer different sizes. If you are worried about buying 2nd hand, this might be a good option.

LOL! We have the same taste! I left a post on your other thread about Tag Heuer watches.
I own the same Cartier you are interested in...my absolute favorite! Easy to read and a great size. 34mm X 36mm if I remember correctly. I wear mine dressy or sporty.

Sky queen I love all your watches! The Cartier looks great on you! It looks like you could wear it day to night so easily and I do need versatility.

I am starting to also really like the Rolexes and appreciate their elegance. What is most versatile between the silver links and the two toned ones? Or just looks better in real life? Same with champagne dial or white one. There are so many choices! I measured my wrist and it's about 5 1/4. Will a 26mm still be just too insignificant for a daily watch?

I really need the Chanel J12 AND a elegant formal watch! I see how the collections start!

I have collected and sold high end watches for 25 years. There are some very very good counterfeit watches. You can always tell a real one from the feel of it. Heaviness, smoothness attention to detail. All fakes fail in one critical area. The dial. Quality watches have beautiful dials. A work of art, fitness that fakes never have.

I suggest Watchfinder.co.uk, you can go to their shop and try on alot of different permitations of used watches and see what you think.
Personally I would go Rolex as they are a really classy brand, other choices may be more likely to fall out of fashion.

I am going with the J12! Now I am hung up all diamond markers vs diamond markers with some numbers visible (I am not sure what the models are actually called!). And whether to get the 38 or 33.
38 J12 is automatic (no battery) and is pretty large, here's mine:

I love mine, wear it everyday..1520038383397.jpg

ETA: my wrist is very small, 6 inches

I would agree Rolex are a good choice. If you want your want to be a good long term investment, consider vintage pieces. Rolex are a good investment if left in the box and not worn, which defeats the object of owning it. Watchmaster. Sell some excellent watches including vintage ones.

Just waiting on my J12 to arrive! I ended ordering both sizes. Today is the 33 cm, I will post a picture! I don't wear much jewelry and I thought suddenly strolling around with a Rolex would make me self conscious. I am pretty hard on things and I like the ceramic for that reason as well. Thank you for all the help! I learned so much!

Congrats!!! Can’t wait to see pics. My girlfriend has a white J12 33mm and it looks great on her. She has a tiny wrist as well.
