First Hermès decision: B25 gold-on-gold vs B30 gold-on-silver – need advice!

I would go with the 30 as well. The Birkin isn’t meant to be precious, in my mind. It’s the catch all carry all that the Kelly couldn’t hope to be.

I also love the versatility that the phw / gold combo gives you.

However, at the end of the day, you can never go wrong if you go with what speaks to you.

I am going to be controversial here and say neither.
You said your dream was a B30 gold with GHW and these two are not that.
You have been offered two fantastic options so you are being considered for great bag offers, so I would wait it out for what you really want.
If you take one of these you may find either you get offered sooner than desirable your preferred choice, and finances may be problematic, or you don’t get offered your top choice.
The H journey is super challenging as most of us have found out along the way.

Hello everyone!
So I’ve been offered two options for my first Hermès bag:

• Birkin 25, gold on gold
• Birkin 30, gold on silver

I’m 5’11” and my dream was always a B30 gold on gold, but now I’m torn. My first impulse was the 25 because it’s super chic and I don’t carry much, but being tall I worry it might look too small on me. Plus, I’ve always been more drawn to gold hardware.

What do you all think? Thank you so much!

I tend to agree with @CapriTrotteur and wait.

Try both and keep in mind how much you carry; what you already own; and, what you need.

If you can, I would go to see both IRL and take a full length pic of both on you (to address your question of whether it looks proportionate to your height). If not, at least visit your boutique or a reseller to determine whether a B25 is a viable option for you.

Re practicality, I would say 1. The B30 can be carried on the arm or held in the hand, whereas the B25 is best handheld. However, as I get older, I dislike the weight of the B30 even empty, and I carry a lot less.

Have fun deciding and always listen to your gut instinct. If your gut is unsure, then buy neither lol

I would take the B25. B25s are harder to get than B30s. The first B offered to me was a B25 which I rejected and asked for a B30. I kinda regretted that. Subsequently I managed to get a B25 sellier. As I don't carry much and am on the petite side, I find the B25 suits me more. My B30 seemed to have "slouched" because I don't stuff it enough. HTH

Get the B25 gold on gold and you will love it. I am 5’8” and my B25s are my go to bags when I don’t have my dogs with me.

I have big hands and have to be a little more conscious to get them through the handles. But I can definitely carry them on my arms.
