First Chanel for a guy: Filigree Vanity Case vs Boy Bag

*update* hello guys thank you for all of your insightful input, so i decided to eliminate small vanity from the list

Recently i tried the Small caviar rhw boy and a 19k black with antique gold seasonal calfskin flap bag with coin purse in the boutique and now i am torn (part 2) haha, the price point is similar but capacity wise the seasonal flap bag is better since it is about an inch bigger (equivalent to the small classic flap). I kept thinking back and forth between this two, since for me a bag purchase this expensive should be wise in the look and also function department...

so which one should be my first and (probably) last Chanel?

Hi the name is: Chanel Calfskin Flap Bag with coin purse from the 19K collection, it comes in 2 sizes if i’m not mistaken and the one above is the larger size... regarding the style code i’ll get back to you asap

Nice thanks. It seems to be a great style for a guy that echoes the classic flap without being the classic flap (I am also a guy hunting for a Chanel bag) I think because Chanel has made quilting very luxe and more feminine, and I find that bag with less quilting a little more androgynous too. I quite like the size you have on. I’m not that keen on the coin purse but I assume it is detachable and can be treated like an extra slg. It reminds me too much of the Lv multi pochette (similar concept).

Have you considered the tall boy? The north south one. I think that’s a cool shape for a guy too, I haven’t tried it on though, I’ve attached the pic below. And also, like the previous comment, would you consider a medium boy?

Spot on!! As if you read my mind regarding my point of view on Chanel’s quilting and the reason why i gravitate towards this seasonal flap bag (subtle quilting but still got that classic flap look haha). You could actually remove the coin pouch to make it look less trendy

Imho for me the medium boy look too boxy and bulky as a crossbody plus the awkward chain length on my 5’11” frame hence why i opted for the small boy... the tall north-south boy look promising, but i rarely see it in a neutral colour combo especially at my local boutique maybe i should try and ask my SA.

Which bag are you currently eyeing? Hope you have a sucessfull Chanel bag hunt

Hello there i did end up getting the small boy bag, although the 19k seasonal flap is beautiful both remaining stock at my boutique has some kind of dent / scratch on it and it is quiet noticeable since the flap part is smooth. I don't think with frequent use this bag will age well. Good luck on your bag hunt
