I have never purchased from them, but I just wanted to pass on that a few purseformers found fakes in there and their attitude was really nonchalent about it. Personally I would be wary of buying from a consignment shop with that attitude!

Thanks Syma, I did see a few strange looking Leather birkins ...but the Fushia ostrich looked real I have the same with gold hardware.
Hmm lot to think about!

I want to whistle as I bought the CMSC jersey.

How wonderful Suzie.
As you have seen from my last post I am vey conflicted about the splitting of the thread and new rules that do not seem (to me) consistant. The Finds thread was my favorite thread. Now I am not sure what is appropiate anymore. Apparently ok to talk about scarves on dirty floors of sellers but no joyful enabling, whistling and "nudging"
However as to your jersey carre, I have seen and touched that IRL at the Boutique in just that CLW and it is a lovely thing and so perfect in your collection.

I miss the old thread too. I suppose I'll just refrain from posting anything in the new one.

And congrats on your jersey! I almost jumped on the "iris" one, but I had already asked the SA I have been working with at the our local store to find one for me (and she is taking her sweet time about it! grrr)

I miss it, too, TT. It was such a happy place, and a huge part of it was sharing the joy.

I have to say I miss the old thread too and agree with the "disjointed" feel. Nothing is ever carved in stone (hopefully) and perhaps the powers that be could rethink the decisions. I thought the old system worked better and felt far friendlier.

I'm not sure what else changed except for the "no congrats", but I after my last 'find' I certainly would feel horrible if somebody bought a fake because of something I posted. I will still lurk though - love seeing what others come up with!

Nothing has really changed with the old thread. It was for posting finds. Comments about the find itself were welcome. The only difference is that if a tPFer made the purchase, the congrats are made here. The old thread was getting a tad bogged down with whistling KWIM. OK to whistle your head off in here! At least that is my understanding.

I think Cobalt also said that for those who subscribe to the Finds thread, they get an email alert everytime there's a new post, so I'm sure it got tedious for those people when the new posts were just "congrats!". It does feel disjointed, but so long as people can still comment on things pertaining to the find in the Find thread, I guess it shouldn't be too different from before.
