Hi all... I've been very confused about what to pick in regards to my first nice watch. I was debating between the 28mm ss Roman numeral ballon bleu and then considered the 33mm ss Roman numeral ballon bleu.
I also saw a tank Americane in great condition. She told me it was rose gold but when I emailed to inquire about it, they are saying it is yellow gold.
My taste in jewelry has a strong preference in rose gold.
The last two yellow gold pieces I wear regularly is a dainty evil eye and a half eternity diamond ring who's tone in yellow does not look jarring to my rose gold. I wear love bangle and half diamond white gold eternity daily (will be adding more later). And necklaces are rose gold/rubedo or if they have small diamonds usually white gold or platinum...
So I basically wear rose gold and if there are diamonds I set them in white gold or platinum. I plan on getting a love ring and a trinity to stack together and hopefully down the road a panthere or serpenti ring. The last two would be worn on my watch hand.
I am of average height with small features and petite build. I wear a love 16 and it goes down almost half way down my wrist.
I plan on adding rose gold and platinum pave VCA pieces and Tiffany soleste pieces in the future, I like that slight feminine classic but not heavy look.
I do not want to make a trendy purchase and therefore will not go over 33 for that oversized borrowed look.
It also seemed like many people didn't see too much of a difference between the 28 and 33 on me, which is making me wondering if I should stick to the 28 instead of spending over a 1000 (1600 if auto) more for a watch.
I have been looking into automatic versus quartz. So this is my dilemma.
Small BB only comes in quartz. They only have new. I can get it for 3600
The 33 has both options but will be significantly higher. 4500 for quartz and I think 5100 for automatic but I have to ask them their price for me for the auto to verify
The estate piece is quartz but has an 18kt gold face. I was told last year it was rose gold, but now they are saying it's yellow gold. I'm confused about that but I'm wondering if the color was subtle and that's why. If you have or seen a yellow tank Americane is the yellow gold jarring?
So right now if I consider the tank vs the small Bb, since they are both quartz and if quartz isn't a serious watch for luxury watches, should I forego the gold? Or since it's gold and I'm already getting it at estate price do you think it would hold it's value better than a stainless steel ballon bleu?
The 33 has an automatic but I wasn't prepared to spend that much so I am unsure what to do at this point. I have a clean but classic asthetic to my jewelry taste. Sorry for a long winded post! What would you pick?
