Wow! I have just read the thread, and I'm amazed. I have watched LindasStuff on Ebay grow over the years, and I had no idea that her company lists so much stuff daily on Ebay. Her business has grown rapidly, and it appears that her employees are not properly trained to create listings which are factual and specific.

If she is selling handbags to PF members, she can expect problems because the PF members expect honest descriptions of any and all defects. While it is nice to have a seller who accepts returns, it is a hassle for any of us to return an item and wait for a refund due to the seller not accurately describing the item.

And it is odd that a seller would not promptly issue a refund when an item is returned in a timely fashion.

And if the seller posts respectfully apologizing for the refund delay, and then later posts (or another person using her IP address), saying something derogatory about the OP, well, that is not the kind of business that any of us should buy from.

Ellie, glad that you rec'd your refund. I'm sorry that you were inconvenienced by the seller - first, by her not describing the item accurately; and second, by her not processing your refund in a timely manner.

Hello, Kay... your thoughts are most appreciated. Unfortunately, my experience is that this seller operates on quantity, not quality.
Hope you and yours are doing well.

Ellie hun, I am so sorry this has happened to you, but hey, nobody messes with Miss EM! Congrats on getting the case solved.;)

And about the seller having the cheek to create a second ID and come here and be obnoxious, well what can I say : you cant buy class no matter how big your Ebay business might be. The sellers behaviour is appalling and I will make sure to spread the word.

Natalia, darlin, how are ya? Seller makes a point of publicizing that she's an attorney. I would have expected better behavior from a professional of that level, actually...:confused1:

I've been reading this thread and, of course, I'm thrilled you got your money back. BUT, is any one else as disturbed as me by the misleading descriptions of her auctions. Over and over again. Big, small operation doesn't matter. Items should be described accurately. Just the number of times misleading auctions have been reported in this thread plus obviously the owner has read this thread, nothing is being done to correct it since the item was relisted with the same old INACCURATE description. Not a business I want to do business with.

Hi this is Linda Lightman. I responded to Ellie Mae's original comments apologizing for any delay in her refund. I thought that my posting was appropriate. I also, reached out to Ellie Mae with a phone call. I work non-stop to please all my buyers and feel terrible that Ellie Mae was in any way dissatisfied. I thought that was sufficient. A frequent buyer was in my office dropping off items for consignment as well as picking up some purchases. Someone in my office showed her the thread and she was appalled and went on the purse forum to post what she felt was an appropriate response. I had NOTHING TO DO WITH THAT RESPONSE AT ALL. In fact, I had no idea she had responded until someone in my office pointed it out. I am not on purse forum often and I am really not familiar with all the terminology or protocol. I simply posted my own reply and have now read all other replies including the reply made by my client/buyer in my office. It was NOT ME.

Please know the bag Ellie Mae purchased and returned was relisted. The pictures are the same because we do not Photoshop the pictures and the pictures are exactly what the bag looks like. We did however change the description to reflect the condition. We try very hard to accurately describe all items, since many of our items are used we do try to give the best detail and will work harder to make sure we achieve our goal to provide all buyers a positive experience. But note that “condition” is subjective. Ellie Mae please feel free to reach out to me personally with an email if you feel that we have not done so, my personal email address is [email protected]. I thank you for that!

I had thought and hoped that my response would be enough. Many of the replies have brought up great points for me to think about as my business grows and I am thankful for the great input and insight. However, some of the comments are hurtful. When I just saw this last posting stating that my business was rumored to no longer be mine, I had no choice but to reply again. Linda’s Stuff is owned by only me. I work so hard and can be found still in my office until 9:00 pm on most evenings. I have built my business on pure sweat equity. I am sorry that Ellie Mae experienced any delay in her refund. As all of you know, no matter how hard anyone tries to please everyone, it is an impossible task. But my efforts are always there and my apology to Ellie Mae and posting was and is sincere. I am not sure what else I can say or do. ShopLindasStuff.com / Lindas’s Stuff is my business that I have worked so hard and continue to work so hard to build.

I am at my office all the time and can be reached at 215-956-9190 if anyone would like to speak to me about any problems or concerns.

Are you saying a customer (conveniently no one from your staff) came into your office, heard about this thread on TPF and then used your computer to sign up for TPF and post rude comments in your defense? And you claim you had no knowledge of this until after the fact? True maybe but color me skeptical, after all what else can you say? It wasn't me, someone else did it, I had no idea, really. It reminds me of a teenager caught red-handed saying...those are not mine, someone put them in my backpack, or left them in my room, etc. I really think you'd be better off just to leave the thread alone and let it die down on it's own rather than digging a deeper hole, imho.

Im glad she keeps coming on here to post her BS, that way others will read it and not buy from her.

:faint:

I am so sorry that I am late to the party EM! I can't believe I missed out on offering support for your debacle! :hugs:

I think that this is a perfect example of the debate over big vs small business; Quality w/ Quantity is a hard balance. As a business owner it is important to ensure that you learn from mistakes and move forward instead of making the same mistake twice and expecting the same result. It bothers me that the seller would take the time to come into the forum and post an explanation but not take the time to accurately describe the bag prior to relisting it.

I agree with others in that perhaps the seller has bitten off more than they can chew, and is riding on quantity to inflate feedback percentage to an acceptable level. Unfortunately this doesn't matter to the individual buyer who is sorely dissapointed when they become a victim of misrepresentation. Perhaps the seller should make the necessary adjustments before the level of negatives starts to offset the 99% feedback rating rather than after.

I am equally dissapointed that someone would create a second account and post that rude attack. We've seen this happen numerous times in the forum. Honesty is always the best policy. Perhaps it was a junior employee that listed the bag that was SNAD retaliating after being reprimanded? If I were this seller I would get to the bottom of this immediately.

Hey gals! I think this thread has ran it's course. I don't want to see it turn into a Seller bashing thread.
In my honest opinion, the replies and opinions in this thread while very blunt, were not bashing.
Both sides have been able to respond.
