This thread had me digging for bags that I totally forgotten about. There's nothing like a old vintage bag in the color brown. I have vintage Coach, Fendi before they went under the Louis Vuitton brand, Marc Jacobs, Lucky Brand, Frye bags that will last forever and Cole Haan. I have the L.V. and vintage Fendi in the brown zucca print. View attachment 4214930 View attachment 4214931 View attachment 4214932 View attachment 4214934

So pleased this thread's made you think about some more forgotten bags. I really like the MJ, so much fun

LOL - this thread comes at a great time - I am currently contemplating a H vintage bag that I have only ever seen in brown. I haven't had brown in the true sense of the colour for many years - when I was in school 20 years ago it was one of the classics people were wearing. With silver hardware I think it would look so cool! and for the first time in ages I bought a brown trouser - last time early 00s. if I pull the trigger I will come back here and post - my DH doesn't care about trends and has been into brown for-ever - one of his permanent colour choices

My brown on brown

I love this thread and all the bags in it. I’ve always loved all the shades of brown, tan, and fauve, especially on pricey bags that I buy as lifetime pieces. They age beautifully and become richer in time. They look even better as they get a little worn and patinated. Thank you papertiger for celebrating this underdog of a color!
This is the only pic I have handy, I hope to add more as I pull them out to use. My floppy 15plus year old chocolate Togo B

I always wear my brown bags with black shoes, usually my docs, and have no issues with the combination.

so amazing bags! a few years ago I had the Double Sens in black/ ebene - wish now I had kept it...

Hope all goes well, fingers crossed.

20, even 30 yo, most models were black and brown as standard, I think taupe has become the new brown. Now taupe is grey-brown/brown-grey, and strangely although I love brown or grey, taupe/Etoupe doesn't suit me at all.

My DH is a brown lover too. He has to normally wear black for work but he's more naturally attracted to brown. But then man bags still come in black and brown as standard so they have that choice.
