Not a reveal but an ode to this much maligned colour.

In the neutral world, black is always with us, navy seems to have shaken off its conservative rep, grey is thought of as an edgy neutral rather than the terrible blah image it had and tan has always escaped criticism. I'm not talking about beige, caramel, tan or even cognac, those colours I like too but they have a casual edge that has helped them stay hip. Taupe for a long time seemed to have taken over as the alternative to black. BV and Gucci used to have brown as their signature colour but o longer, only in the LV world is brown a staple. Let's give a welcoming warm hand to the reintroduction of real dark brown bags into our wardrobe.

I have always liked brown, be it cool ebony or warm chocolate. This year I'm feeling brown more than ever. Not many women's bags are made in brown anymore but I'm seeing 'sold out' signs under the browns in NAP and other sites this season, must be a thing in the air.

Are you a fan too? Please show me your best brown bags.

First I'll show you some of mine:

Gucci travel Half-moon hobo in suede with web reversible web-stripe strap with Gucci Bamboo Half-moon hobo with web-stripe strap
1960s vintage buckle bag
1970s snakeskin patchwork bag
1970s lizard Mappin and Webb convetible clutch/shoulder bag
Hermes Chocolate Tavel Web Bolide
Gucci croc/Box leather and calf-hair Secret
Gucci 1960s vintage croc
I could stare at your vintage bags for hours! They take brown to a level all their own. [emoji7] [emoji7] [emoji7]

Beauties...I think I am going to look for a Duffle that color is gorgeous! I have my Black Cherry one that I still use and love!
I bought that duffle after seeing someone carrying one in Costco one day. I came home and started looking on ebay. I love Black Cherry. I had that in the bucket but sold it because it was ridiculously big. If only I had gotten it in the duffle instead, I would probably still have it. But I also have emerald and sunflower so that is probably too many in the same style.

I own Kelly in gold and couple of Chanels in beige. And have this on my wish list

I'm so glad you started this thread. I love brown bags and think they're really underappreciated in general. They can be hard to match, though--black shoes pretty much always go with black bags, but brown shoes with brown bags are rarely complementary.

For that reason, my favorite are bags that combine multiple shades of brown. So far, I just have LV for that, but I was just stalking Fashionphile this morning for brown bags!

The shoes are the main reason that I don't carry my brown bags as much as other colors. I can wear black shoes with almost every color except brown.

When I was in my 20s and buying leather bags, I always got brown because in my mind that was the color leather was supposed to be. You could still see the pretty grain of the leather in brown. It was all covered up in black.

Ohmy - that snakeskin and your vintage croc are beautiful!

Brown is not my favorite color for bags, but I do appreciate a warm medium brown. They are actually a bit darker than what the camera picked up. I don't use these bags very often, but they are a permanent part of my collection. The 1st one is Coach from 2012 (I think) and the 2nd is Dooney & Bourke.

That brown is gorgeous on the duffle. Even I, brown bag-less, can see how beautiful that is! :giggle:

Oh, you have the Alto Viola!? I was looking at that bag as an option, I have no brown bags, and this was a contender! When you get a chance, would you mind showing what it looks like from the top and open? Dooney is really vague with their photos.
