I use the term 'old' Raisin because I find more than any other colours the tone of Raisin seems to vary depending on the year...
I dont know if others will agree with this but I find older Raisin has a blue undertone and is a very dark rich purple.
'newer' Raisin seems to have more red in it and can tilt towards a brownish tone.
Hoping this makes sense!

Sorry I missed this. BS in Togo and Clemence is a navy blue. In chèvre it's much brighter and I wouldn't call it neutral

Agreed, Raisin and Rouge H to me vary more than any other classic colors in terms of dye lots and years as opposed to leathers (although Etain certainly seems to vary quite a bit!).
@QuelleFromage Yes!!!
Rouge H can look really 'flat' and a bit 'meh' or else it can be deep and rich and as you mention I've seen this across all kinds of skins.
Thanks for explaining about Rasin and I very much agree about Rouge H @QuelleFromage @maxroxxherhandbags - I've seen it look stunningly rich and also very "thin" and almost washed out or flat as you say is a great word. For me Etain is either a stunner and very rich but still neutral but some batches lean very brown which is much less attractive to me.

Ooh great story for an "ordinary day" @htxgirl! I love sesame when I see it online but have never seen it in person.

Thanks @maxroxxherhandbags - great list! My new stalked color is Vert Rousseau. Why do you write "old" Rasin (is there a new version?)

@EdgyBagsPlz I personally would consider any midtone or dark red a neutral, but then that's very much my palate!

@Hanash Good call, I have a couple of SLGs that are vert amande and it probably would translate beautifully to a larger piece.

@Momarama Thanks for sharing and 100% agree about olive or darker greens being neutrals! How do you wear jaune ambre as a neutral?

@htxgirl "Pop" neutrals - perfect phrase!
Hi Peonies13! JA is def another pop neutral! (Great term!). I love it with most of my wardrobe. Someone mentioned it being like a jazzier gold. I love Etain but whenever use it I find I have to change my bag soon because it works less seamlessly with my wardrobe. JA I can wear for long stretches in mostly in warmer months with whites, tans, rusts, browns, blues, and my fave olives!

I guess I could also post in the "Unpopular Opinion" thread:
Rouge Sellier (Chèvre) and Alezan (Togo).
I know many here don't like brownish leaning shades so much. My SA had advised me Rouge S and Alezan as true neutral alternatives to Raisin (unfortunately too cold/purplish against my difficult light skintone) and to my beloved Gold, as I find Gold not harmonious with my camel coloured clothes. Though gold goes with many things, I personally find it stands out (of course not bright or screaming, but definitely more eye catching than Alezan).

How come nobody mentioned sesame color?
Anyways, my first quota bag was a jaune ambre B30phw. It was so pretty but sadly it didnt work with my wardrobe. Bought it premium brand new from a reseller.
Finally on an ordinary day, my SA left me a voicemail if i wanted to see a sesame colored bag thats available. I took it and am very happy. It is my favorite casual neutral bag and works with all colors: summer or winter. Better than gold that everyone is crazy about. Gold can get quite boring though.
Super agree! I was surprised that it was easy to match..and was a little similar to gold but had a more youthful and interesting vibe. Really very happy with it too. Yellow family is not my favorite. But this one is the exception! The brown undertones make it appear to be a neutral color.

I think Rouge Sellier is beautiful and and work as a neutral. It will age with the owner.

Rouge Sellier in Chèvre is really beautiful. Reminds me of when Rouge H gets really brown, but in the best possible way.

I am waiting for a bag in Bleu Encre chèvre and hoping it turns out to be a usable "bright neutral" color (although I'm fine if it turns out as a pop bright, also).
