i love to have one-of-a-kind pieces done, from wax mold to finished jewelry.

for stones i go to cherrypicked.com, a/k/a the lapidary of reginald c miller, where you can find things like this padparadscha sapphire.

for the settings, i have a local designer i love:
http://www.thegemvault.com/ -- they did this setting for an indicolite from cherrypicked.

I'm currently in love with my silver pieces from Hermes and Yurman chalcedony diamond quatrefoil.

But for other brands in general, I'm crazy about Chopard, Cartier and Mardo.

I don't usually like commercial items. Granted, there are a few pieces I love that are very 'typical'. For example, the Tiffany interlocking rings necklace, Cartier love bracelet, Tiffany-style diamond solitaire, tennis bracecelt, etc. However, I prefer to have items nobody else has or hand picked stones/hand made settings. I don't like to put on a necklace and go somewhere to find 10 other women wearing one just like it. I went to a charity function just last night where every third woman was sporting a Yurman necklace. To me, it loses its charm that way. (just my opinion)

I am incredibly nit picky about jewelry. I'm overly critical and extremely demanding when it comes to designing/making/purchasing jewelry. It's an occupational hazard for my family.

Also, I really like antique pieces. I mean, very old. This past week I managed to find a 1.30ct (approx) Old Rose cut. It's from the late 1700s to the mid 1800s. The setting it's in is about 150 yrs old. I love it. It has a story and to me, that's better than a blue box.

I love Canturi (www.canturi.com) (Australian designer, does a lot of film jewellery for Baz Lurhmann) - the pieces using Australian black sapphires are mouth-watering. I also have an enduring love for the classic Cubism collection but sadly all of Canturi's pieces are out of my price-range currently - when I'm older perhaps...

I find haute joillerie by Dior to be simply amazing in terms of design - the fantasy rings are beyond decadent.

I also like vintage Cartier - so much more interesting than the current stuff IMO...

I've never really been attracted to big jewelers overall like Tiffany or Cartier (though I do like their love bracelet). Probably the closest I would get is Pomellato - I love their jewelry with a passion. I also love Marco Bicego, Jamie Joseph, Ten Thousand Things, and Me & Ro.

I wear a lot of Lyric as well as Lori Bonn boutique pieces and also am a huge fan of Echo of the Dreamer, their one of a kind unique pieces are so funky and beautiful with so much imagination I can't get enough.
