I recently submitted my black caviar classic flap size small to Fashionphile for a quote prior to the recent price increase. The bag is in pristine condition. However, their quote for buyout is kind of disappointing. I read some posts on Purseforum before and seeing some ladies were able to negotiate the price with Fashionphile through emails or phone calls. I did call them today, however, was told that the price is not negotiable. The only way to potentially get a different offer is to wait until the current offer expires and submit again. I want to know if any ladies here have any re-submit experiences with Fashionphile. (If the re-submit quote tend to be higher or lower, etc) Any advice or information would be greatly appreciated. TIA!

Fashionphile(FP) offers are usually on the lower end. I usually try to sell my things on Vestiaire before sending to FP.
You could try waiting for the current offer to expire and resubmit, but their offer might be higher or lower than the current offer- it depends on the demand for the item.

I've been selling with them for about 5 years when they used to have consign option. Overall I feel offers are not what they used to be - the payout is lower. However, I have sold some unpopular Chanel styles and took a licking. For example, In the Mix Tote, Easy Single Flap and 227. I did get a better offer on my CC tote and a few hundred more on my 227. I refused the 1st offer and waited 6 months. Another interesting note is I've gotten close to what I paid for my LV pieces. I had sold (and regret) a vintage PM Noe and was offered close to what I paid for it. I think Chanel is very competitive and it seems the days are gone when you get offered what you paid for the bag at FP. I ran the same 227 by Yoogis and TRR and their offers were lower. I like that FP is expedient and professional, so I choose to sell with them and take a bit more of a loss. I have not tried Vestiaire and might give them a try next time. I wonder with the recent price increase if that will get you a better offer?

I just submitted my Chanel turquoise zip coin purse from 17C to fashionphile for buyout. They offered my the same price that I paid for it. It is brand new though, never been used. But when I submitted it two years ago, the quote was much lower...like less than half of what I paid for it. So it may just depend on the demand at the time and their current inventory?

I think it depends on the person who does the quotes. Sometimes you can get higher quote than the first ones . Other times , it is the other way around. You will never know. It just sucks that you have to wait another 30 days to resubmit another quote if the original quote is not what you wanted. Just keep in mind that you’ll never get to close to what you originally paid for unless it is a hard to find items . Good luck.

A few months ago I submitted a quote for a SF Jumbo. I resubmitted the quote last weekend, and the buyout price was a couple hundred dollars extra. Maybe this is because of the recent price increase, or a different employee. Did you submit your quote before the price increase?
Yes, I submitted the CF size small before the price increase. Now I want to wait until the current offer expires and then resubmit another time. Finger crossed for a higher quote.

I just don't understand how they will sometimes give a small quote, but you see the item being sold for near retail price. That is the only reason why I am hesitant about sending them my bag.

For yours i believe it’s because it’s 2ish years old. Back then the coin purse was $4-450? They are now 600+ depending on the style. So it only a fair price since you’ve held onto it and not used it.

They're trying to make the biggest profit they can ... of course I don't agree with taking advantage of people, but I'm not surprised that they're offering far less to sellers than they will sell the bag for on their website. If they were to offer close to retail on a used bag and then sell it at retail and only make a couple hundred bucks profit on each bag they wouldn't be profitable for long. They're also trying to scale up very rapidly and recently leased a new 105,000+ SF warehouse in NJ, which can't be cheap. :hrmm:

I’ve been pretty satisfied with their buyouts. Yoogis has always been lower for me. The market & inventory is ever changing. They then have to deal with selling the bag, paying to ship it, returns... who knows how many times they’ll sell it & ship it before a sale sticks. I’m sure selling things on my own would fetch a higher price but I don’t want to deal with the headache.
