I'm pretty sure that was a court matter back in an earlier season. Derek's family sued her or planned to; there was also the issue of a death payment from Social Security that Farrah wanted from them. I think her idea was they kept the SS money, and they don't get to see Sophia. She used to "negotiate" through Derek's cousin; I don't remember seeing his mother or stepmother. I forget how or even if this was resolved. Now that she's out of state, I suppose she ignores the whole thing. As above poster says, now she goes to the grave when MTV pays and they need a scene.
