Falling out of love with Speedy B :\

Hello again! I am turning to all of you for your advice once again.

I got a mono Speedy B 30 a few months ago and for a while, she was my every day bag. At first, I loved her... lately, not so much. There are certain things about the bag here and there that are bothering me and it seems that the more I use it, the more I find myself wishing I had something else. I use it mostly with the long strap, I never use it handheld (I'm kind of tired of using handhelds at the moment). I started feeling this way for over a month now and have tried carrying her again, but the unsatisfied feeling doesn't seem to go away. It might even be getting worse?

Has anyone here had issues with their Speedy B and sold it? If so, did you end up regretting it at all?

I felt the same as you buying and selling speedy 30 twice!! I ended up getting speedy b 25 and still have it and love it. I mainly wear it crossbody. My daughter (15) will use it once and a while to get go to the mall or special even with me and uses it strap free hand held. I will keep this one regardless as one day (probably for her graduation gift)I will gift it to my Julia She really loves this bag and I purchased it a year ago preowned. I felt the 30 was too duffel bag like and awkward wearing crossbody but the 25 is perfect crossbody and I use the 24-7 shaper.

I like the " idea " of speedy b but not the look when on the shoulder. It looks nice handheld and even sometimes cross body. Speedy is one of my favorite LV designs but looks best imo as a handheld bag. If you do not love her then sell and fund something else . Its a popular bag so you may not lose much money if any at all. GL .

I was exactly the same as you with the feeling of the speedy b. I was constantly fixing it's shape cause I felt it looked weird caving all in the middle while wearing the strap. Someone on here said it best, handheld bags with optional shoulder use looks like it's going through an identiy crisis...it was the most truthful thing I've heard..

Never thought about it like that, but it really is TRUE!!!

OP, sorry to hear you are falling out of love with your bag. But it happens. I say think it over to make sure you want to sell it... then sell it and find a bag that works better for you and your lifestyle. Good luck!

I had my a speedy 25 for a while (without a strap). I use it a few times but because the zip part is a bit small so it's hard to get things in n out sometimes. Other than that, I still love my bag…

This is a great thread! I also got speedy b 25 in DE about a month ago, used it once and found that I'm not really too fond of the slouch look. My SA told me 25 is better than the rest in keeping it's shape but even then I found it to be too cumbersome to try to "fix" it all the time. I find myself obsessing about its shape. I really wanted to love it as I felt I'm getting 3 bags in one. The other issue too was the uncomfortable shoulder strap of the DE. It wasn't even stuffed yet I feel it digging on my shoulder when worn crossbody. I am not too sure if it's an issue with the DE since it's stiffer than the mono vachetta. Then the opening was a bit small so whenever I opened, the zipper scratches my hand. Anyways, long story short I ended up exchanging it after 17 days to the Totally MM which is more structured and comfortable. There is no option to wear crossbody but I got Favorite MM for that.

I've noticed in photos that the B25 is better at keeping its shape. I may feel differently right now if I had that instead of my B30, IF I didn't feel it was too small. I think I've read that DE straps are uncomfortable at first but once they are broken in they get more better. Honestly though if my mono B30 is full, even the vachetta strap starts to hurt my shoulder. I totally understand your zipper situation. I'm thinking I may want to sell this for a Delightful MM and sell my Favorite PM for the MM.

Thanks for this I was really thinking about getting a speedy 30b in the mono. I don't think I will like the duffle look and the sag going to bother me. If you really don't like it I say sell it and get another bag you want =)

When I was first considering this bag I read about it here on TPF and a lot of people said it looked too much like a duffel bag, but I couldn't imagine how since it's not like it's a HUGE bag, you know? But now I understand the whole duffel bag thing and I find myself not liking it at all. You should try a B25!

Ah, that is the perfect way to describe. I also hate how it caves in... I especially hate that it stays caved in even when it's just sitting. I'm constantly fixing it

YES YES! I purchased the Speedy B 30 in April and finally sold her in August. I love Speedy's but I also wanted a shoulder bag so buying the Speedy B at the time seemed right. Wrong I came to the conclusion the Speedy is a hand held bag period. Unlike you I was not in love with the Speedy B - for me it was an impulse buy that I should have never made because I lost a ton of money when I sold (well not a ton but it was a loss never the less). I Think it was just the timing in which I sold because it was in Azur.

The bag sat very awkward when placed on the shoulder and just did not sit right like it caves inward looking very tacky. Even DH said that. Never used it cross body because I am not a cross body girl. I tried using a base shaper to prevent the caving but it then stuck out way too far. The Speedy B is a very awkward bag and I have learned you either love it or you don't. I sold it with no regrets at all (beside the money loss because it was so new) and replace her with the Artsy MM Azur.

I think you should sell it and because it is in Mono you will definitely get more money for it being it is Fall. Look at actually getting a shoulder bag in Mono. In my experience with LV shoulder bags are shoulder bags and hand bags are hand bags. Do not try to make yourself love it again because it does not work like that. What bothers you now will always bother you. Sell it get something you will LOVE.

I got my Speedy B around the same time as you actually! Mine was also sort of an impulse buy because I got it for a super low price. I'm hoping to be able to at least break even on it.

The B30's size and shape is too awkward for me to wear as crossbody. I LOVE crossbody bags, but I don't have enough of them. Most of my bag collection is top handles, so I really wanted to love this bag because it has so many options.

It seems the B25 doesn't have the duffel bag-like sagging problem that the B30 has. Glad to hear you and your daughter both love yours!

I do love the idea more so than the bag itself. And I agree, it looks better handheld! Thanks for your input

The crazy thing is, I did absolutely love mine! If you were to look through my older posts and stuff, I always spoke very highly of this bag. For a couple months I thought it was true love. Starting about a month ago, things just started bothering me more and more.
