If there's one thing we all appreciate in TPF is that our bags are as personal as underwear, and we all have our own (often precise) criteria and preferences.
I carry the same things as Hallie1983, minus the water, plus earbuds. In terms of objective weight, I just checked- it's 6 lbs. when packed with (my) daily basics.
So, rogue + my daily stuff= 6lbs. Most days, I add more - umbrella, gloves, book or iPad mini -- or all of the above. All these things fit easily- and probably double the carrying weight of the bag.
So the bag weighs what it weighs. With stuff, individual results may vary. The experiences described here seem more about burden than weight - what it feels like to you, with your stuff, in your preferred carrying position, for whatever length of time you need ito carry it comfortably. That feels different to each of us.
I agree with Hallie- this bag is spectacular. It's also substantial. It will work better for some of us than for others - it's less about whether it is heavy or not (it mostly is) and more about how heavy it feels - and that is unique to each of us.
For me, it works. It's not my lightest bag, but it's not my heaviest. (I tilt heavy with most). It will withstand my urban life, keep some things secure (wallet, phone, SLGs) even as others are a one-handed grab away (tissues, gloves, transit pass). I can wear with both arms free, flip it around to rest in my lap on the train without ever taking it off, get in and out with one hand while it's on me during the day (cross body), yet carry with more grace- on shoulder or by handles at work or at night. For me, the materials + design + craftsmanship + versatility + function + that leather aroma= yes.
What I love about TPF is the collective love of bags, celebrating the experiences of others even when vastly different from our own. I know of few other places where (mostly) women bask in the delight of others with so much generosity, support, and grace.
Thank you, my tribe!
