YAY!! I just checked my order status again and mine also says will ship March 28th. It used to say April 4th. The website now shows OUT OF STOCK on the suede instead of BACK ORDER. So, I guess they are all gone for now. Thank goodness we got ours!!! :woot:

I just looked at the pictures on Nordstrom.com again and noticed that the bottom of the suede Rogue says Geniune Full Grain Suede, so I googled and found this explanation:

Although most suede is made from a split hide, it is also possible to produce suede from a full-grain piece of leather. The nappy finish can be achieved by abrading the surface of the leather, usually with an emery wheel. Suede that is manufactured from full-grain leather may also be called nubuck. Full-grain suede is usually more durable than the split-hide variety, but also more expensive.

That's funny, in as much as I was driven to look up leather online too. I realized two things:

1. I actually had no idea how modern leather and suede are made
2. You learn something new every day
3. A little knowledge (in my hands at least) is a dangerous thing

Ok, that's three things (begin Monty Python Spanish Inquisition riff, 4 is "I am way overthinking this bag").

I just hope this Rogue does not disintegrate when I use it. I am hoping for a kind of cross between Fendi Selleria and Dooney and Bourke All-Weather Leather

Anyway, that is interesting, isn't it? It does sound like Coach is trying a bit harder.

Thanks for that research! Really great and reassuring to hear.

My OTK suede boots are by Frye and they are the full grain (nubuck) leather. They are very thick and luxurious and about near indestructible as far as I can tell. They get rubbed against one another and against my jeans, scratched, and have had salt water and mud splashed on them and all imperfections/blemishes brush or rub right out. The areas that rub are aging nicely with the wear. So if the leather on the Rogue is anything like this, it will DEFo not disintegrate or wear out any time soon. Especially since it's likely a double ply construction with the pebbled leather on the inside.

You're welcome. I feel much better about my purchase. I can't wait to see all the reveals!

Ha, ha. I was going to post that too! Yesterday it was 3/28, now 3/19!

On top of that it looks like there may be about 10 or 11 in stock!

Another TPF member mentioned this. If you add a large quantity to your shopping cart - it will tell you how many are left if below 20. Right now it looks like there may be 11 if that is actually accurate :-)

Ahhh gotcha. Thanks. :smile1:
