Fall 2015 - Closer Look at Bags and Outerwear

Anyone else notice this? Or did it already come out and I didn't see it? Or appear in a department store somewhere? It's supposed to be 37535, some sort of pouch. It *looks* like they're trying to re-create a vintage style, at least to my eye. Looks leather-lined as well. It comes in black with oxblood edging/stitching, and what looks, to me, like vachetta ...... ???

Hey there!
I have not seen this style anywhere but color me intrigued! Does look like something they could be creating as a new "classics" style. From the one side view, it appears there could be a back outside zipper (please!). I hope someone chimes in & we get some info...although after the intro of the Ace, my wallet needs a break :-)

Got a better pic. The edging looks more magenta to me, but they're apparently calling it oxblood. Maybe the inside will be darker.

Ok, Got a little more. It's supposed to be a "remake" of the "9170 Classic Pouch".

:shrugs:

What I really want to see is the inside color .... can't find it though.

Oh my, I like the looks of this!

Macy's Herald Square has the nomad hobo in butterscotch, saddle, racing green, black, saddle, oxblood and black cherry. They have the Ace satchel in navy, racing green and wine. If there is a Macy's by you check later this week to see if they have them in stock.
Thanks again; I truly appreciate all of the information you've been so kind to share. :)

I guarantee the pics are real ... they're from Coach's own servers. It's also just crossed my mind ... I wonder if this "remake" of an older pouch style could be a "hint" of what they're doing for the anniversary lines? It might be a longshot, but it's interesting timing. :thinkin:

It looks a lot smaller than the classic pouch, doesn't it, with that skinny strap and the size of the hangtags? One of my favorite things about the classic pouch was the way the strap got wider in the middle. Here's a picture of the 1986 version for reference. It makes sense that they would include this style in a reissue to celebrate an anniversary since the ad says this is the original Coach bag.

Saw the bags IRL yesterday!

The swagger carryall (tote-like bag) seemed to be a step down from the original swagger, so that got crossed off my list. The leather and edges didn't seem as nice to me.

The black shadow design was awesome, but I wasn't crazy about the pebbly leather or the slightly contrasted stitching, although I couldn't really see the stitching when I looked in the mirror. It was also a little heavy for a small bag, probably because of the chain strap. I may wait to see if they make it with other leathers.

The ace was nice. I may get it in oxblood if I can figure out how I'm going to use it. So far it is not a must-have.

Did not expect to love the nomad. It was a great size and so comfortable to wear. I thought it would be huge, but it's not. The green was stunning. It's just not my color, so I probably would not get a lot of use out of it. However if they made one in a deep, perfect tone of purple with gunmetal hardware, that might be hard to resist. :graucho:

I thought the remodeled store was nice. According to the SA, it's working for them.

I had on my fall shopping list a burgundy or oxblood toned bag. Something semi-dressy but weekend appropriate. Not too detailed. I had remembered seeing a great bag in the fall preview: the ace, so I thought I'd check out the coach store.

I tried on the ace and loved it. But once I got all my stuff in, it felt a little too heavy after holding it for 15 minutes. This was a good test as I have at least a 15 minute walk on my commute, and also need to stand on the train often.

I didn't love the pink trimmed swagger. I've liked the swaggers, but haven't been pushed over to purchase, though it is very much a shape and style I tend to gravitate towards. I like the edgy details. The shadow is lovely but has too many pockets for me.

What I did not expect to love was the nomad. I am not really a hobo person, I like more structure and more carrying options than they typically provide. The nomad felt very well constructed and premium. Fell in love with the leather lining and super clean shape. I had a moment of indecision. I left with black cherry and returned it for oxblood as I felt it would work a little better for me. The nomad seems almost underpriced. It is quite difficult to find a larger leather lined bag for under $1500.

Today it makes its debut and fall shopping list is done.

Wow, that is an endorsement for the Nomad! I tried it yesterday and haven't been able to stop thinking about it. Now to decide if I can be patient for Coach's possible PCE - or see I can get from a dept store.
