Fall 2015 - Closer Look at Bags and Outerwear

I think they are really boring. Coach did nylon bags that looked like this many years ago, I think before they came out with signature. Not for me either.

When I want practicality and nylon now, I'll buy a Kipling. Just as durable, large choice of NOT-boring colors, styles and sizes, and much less than half the price. I still have a few of my old Coach Mercers but they're not the most exciting styles Coach ever made.

Hi Jesssh, I'm looking to purchase a mini liv in red calf leather right now! Description says it's "red", "calf leather". I'm guessing it's the exact same bag you described in the "Coach Reds" thread? So far, I've only seen stock photos and was wondering if you could post pictures of your red liv under natural lighting for my reference if possible or in another thread? The stores around me do not carry this bag at all...I would be so grateful :)

By the way, I apologise to everyone here for "riding" on this thread. The "Coach Reds" doesn't allow me to post there because it's more than 112 days old and I have no other way of contacting Jesssh :(

This is the video that sold me on this bag. It was posted by another TPF member (not me):

The color is a true red, like the leather seats on a vintage mustang. The video makes it look like it has blue or pink undertones, but it is about as true a red as you can imagine. Not orange, not coral, not pink. Red. Maybe even like a lipstick red (although those vary). HTH.

I got an email from my SA in King of Prussia yesterday saying she got two of the bags that were on my radar...Ace satchel and Shadow Crossbody. Today, I ended up walking out with them both and had to scurry up the stairs and put the bag in my closet before my DH saw!

Anyway...to the Ace Satchel...I got it in Burgundy with nickel hardware. Coach.com does a terrible job at showing the details of this bag...I had ruled it out early on b/c I HAVE to have an outside pocket...the website does not show the back of the bag nor is there a back zip listed in details...what do you know...it has an outside zip pocket that will easily hold the larger smartphones, keys, id, etc...after that, I was sold. The quality is top notch and the bag holds it shape loaded or unloaded. And it's lightweight which surprised me b/c at a glance, you would think the hardware and leather would make it heavy. As to the size, in comparison to say the Rhyder 32 from last year, it's smaller (not near as small as the 24) and way more structured. My stuff swam in the Rhyder 32 and it ended up going back. The leather on the ACE is very nice but it's the details that make this bag. The price is a bit hard to swallow but I thought the same thing with my first Borough and IMO, this Ace satchel has a ton more detailing. Remember gals...back zipper!!!

Now, onto the Shadow Crossbody...these are not yet listed on the Coach website and if I knew how to insert a photo, I would, but sadly I don't. So, this is the crossbody bag shown in post #570 that we thought may be a Bloomingdales exclusive. I purchased black. It's small, but is so well organized I could not believe it. The leather is pebbled and I'd compare it to the leather used for the Dakotah crossbody. The chain can be used long (I'm 5' 7" and will use it at full length) but will also double as a shoulder bag if you want it to. It has three compartments inside (the middle one fits my Brighton full length trifold wallet and has room to spare and then two smaller sections in front and back which can hold keys, tissues, not just small stuff either. Then, the back exterior of the bag has a slip pocket AND the exterior of that slip pocket has a zip pocket. I mean, talk about versatility and function! They thought of everything...and the detailing is top notch as well.

Both bags definitely need to be seen and felt in person to fully appreciate! I was not a SV fan when the stuff started coming out last fall but these pieces have me more excited than many things of recent with Coach...I can't wait to see all of the new pieces as the fall/winter line debuts in stores.

Thanks for the review! My wallet is groaning. How can I stay on a ban if there are wonderful things coming out soon?!

These pics may have sold me on the Ace - I thought it was going to be too big, but Ariana Grande is TINY and the bag doesn't look huge on her at all. Loving it!

Hahaha, this is so funny - we share the same SA and I just got off the phone with her! I can't stop giggling! Isn't she simply the best though???

I'm patiently waiting for this bag to come in the other 2 colors that were shown in the beginning of this thread. There is one that looks dark navy that has my eye.

Oh she is! She really makes sure you are informed & well taken care of, regardless of your price range. You get the same personal attention whether you are buying a $75 key chain or $600 bag. The fact that she does all this without being pushy or leaving you with the feeling that you not dare return something (a trait many are lacking), is wonderful!
May I ask what you may be checking out on your next visit?

I have to be bag twins with her, so the Oxblood Nomad and just looking at the shadow. I have the racing green nomad and trying to decide if I need another of the same. I always enjoy talking to her and she even inspired me to get my butt in gear! So thrilled she is store manager now.
