I got an email from my SA in King of Prussia yesterday saying she got two of the bags that were on my radar...Ace satchel and Shadow Crossbody. Today, I ended up walking out with them both and had to scurry up the stairs and put the bag in my closet before my DH saw!
Anyway...to the Ace Satchel...I got it in Burgundy with nickel hardware. Coach.com does a terrible job at showing the details of this bag...I had ruled it out early on b/c I HAVE to have an outside pocket...the website does not show the back of the bag nor is there a back zip listed in details...what do you know...it has an outside zip pocket that will easily hold the larger smartphones, keys, id, etc...after that, I was sold. The quality is top notch and the bag holds it shape loaded or unloaded. And it's lightweight which surprised me b/c at a glance, you would think the hardware and leather would make it heavy. As to the size, in comparison to say the Rhyder 32 from last year, it's smaller (not near as small as the 24) and way more structured. My stuff swam in the Rhyder 32 and it ended up going back. The leather on the ACE is very nice but it's the details that make this bag. The price is a bit hard to swallow but I thought the same thing with my first Borough and IMO, this Ace satchel has a ton more detailing. Remember gals...back zipper!!!
Now, onto the Shadow Crossbody...these are not yet listed on the Coach website and if I knew how to insert a photo, I would, but sadly I don't. So, this is the crossbody bag shown in post #570 that we thought may be a Bloomingdales exclusive. I purchased black. It's small, but is so well organized I could not believe it. The leather is pebbled and I'd compare it to the leather used for the Dakotah crossbody. The chain can be used long (I'm 5' 7" and will use it at full length) but will also double as a shoulder bag if you want it to. It has three compartments inside (the middle one fits my Brighton full length trifold wallet and has room to spare and then two smaller sections in front and back which can hold keys, tissues, not just small stuff either. Then, the back exterior of the bag has a slip pocket AND the exterior of that slip pocket has a zip pocket. I mean, talk about versatility and function! They thought of everything...and the detailing is top notch as well.
Both bags definitely need to be seen and felt in person to fully appreciate! I was not a SV fan when the stuff started coming out last fall but these pieces have me more excited than many things of recent with Coach...I can't wait to see all of the new pieces as the fall/winter line debuts in stores.
