Fake longchamp bags on eBay

It surprises me that the fakes are so expensive on eBay. It would've been cheaper for me to wait for a sale in the U.S. than buy the fakes on eBay. I don't buy luxury goods on eBay but I plan to sell some. It irks me that these fakes will make it harder for me to sell genuine goods.

Just to update on what happened:

After calling Ebay and PayPal many, many times and looking at searching forums, the conclusion is that they can't help me with shipping. Ebay and PayPal are now separate companies. At the time that I opened the claim, if you opened a claim with PayPal, you couldn't open it with Ebay and vice versa.

I didn't ship it back because it would have cost me about $50 CAD (I went to 3 different place for quotes). I was charged $21.10 for shipping from Australia to Canada when I ordered so I think the seller had some kind of business post plan. (I bet the seller knows it costs so much to return and that's why he/she's so blatant.) yguo4529 is still on eBay.

As a result, I called VISA. A wonderful lady at Visa named Debra stated as long as I have the evidence that it's a counterfeit good, they can look into it and return the amount back to me. The only thing is that it takes up to 48 weeks.

In Canada, PayPal isn't considered a bank so there is no protection under the Bank Act. They only offer the original amount you paid back. They don't offer anything beyond that. So if you've been victim to a fraud, PayPal will require you to sent the item back to the seller and YOU HAVE TO PAY THE SHIPPING.

My lesson in this: I'm never using PayPal again.

Oh, that sounds so annoying. Too bad you didn't post for advice in the ebay forum-there may have been some better way to deal with it, but I don't know.
I see someone has just asked about that seller in the authenticate thread….I wish ebay would shut these sellers down.

What a great guide! Thanks for sharing

Really helpful tutorial. Always ready to learn something new about Longchamps. Thank you.

I think (as seton mentioned) that this guide is dated and a lot of the newer fakes aren't really easily spotted using this guide. So, please don't use it to determine that a bag is authentic if it doesn't have any of the 'fake' features….buy from an authorized reseller, or get a bag authenticated first.

AN easy thing to do is to do a search on the seller's name here on tpf too.

Oh definitely! I think it is just one of many helpful tools. There is good information on it to start with.

Thanks to the posting here I not only got a refund of my purchase but also got the seller to remove all of her fake listings. I further informed her that if she attempted to list or relist any fake items I would file complaints.

How do you know fashion gangsta is fake? Looks real from the picture and she says she bought in airport. I believe you guys if you say so, I just want to know how you know

Thank you so much for posting this. Unfortunately I saw this after just purchasing a bag from kmt3781. Can you clarify how you know she is selling fake bags? I purchased the Pliage Heritage purple leather bag.

Style above was never produced by longchamp. This was released for a short period of time in travel size only. Now discontinued.

This may or may not be a 'fake' situation, but recently I have noticed a TON of zero-feedback (or 1-feedback from a purchase many years ago) sellers listing a lot of Longchamp Le Pliage bags. At first the sellers were in overseas locations, like Italy/Australia, quoting a long shipping time to the US. I have noticed that they now have locations scattered across the US:

I just wanted to give a heads-up, in case anyone was planning to snag these "deals".... these listings all seem fishy to me (same pics, different 1-feedback sellers?) :balloon:
