Quick update.

Went to see the stone yesterday. It was white. Incredibly sparkly white.

It had a tiny bit of color when I held it over my finger using the tweezer holders (what is that called???) but when we put it on a piece of white paper, it was colorless. So when my jeweler said the crisscut faces two grades up, he was right.

We're going back to see it on Saturday and I think it will be mine :smile1:

Thanks for all the feedback on an H stone everyone
I am sad there are no pics ;) But so excited to see this finished project!

I know!!!

I was going to do a pave band (like the Reese ring) but the more I think about it, I'm leaning towards a plain platinum band for now.

Leon Mege has a mounting that I love. Modern and architectural.

LOVE this idea. LOVE.

Exactly!

btw A - I just did a search for the pics of your ring. Spectacular. Just enough pave without competing with that killer solitaire stone. Love it :smile1:
I think you could do either one, as long as the pave is delicate.
A's setting is gorgeous but with an emerald cut (especially THAT cut), plain would be stunning, too.
Can't wait to see!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The pave I was thinking about is a 3 row micropave. Very narrow band. But the more I think about it (meaning obsess) I am 99% sure I'm going with the plain platinum band.

I can't wait for you to see either!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This will be stunning.

I agree a simple platinum shank/band will be extremely elegant. But if possible, the pave I think will take it to a whole new level of exceptional-ism!

The only other setting style that might look amazing if you want something more jazzy than a simple solitaire is a setting with two trapezoid/chevron sides....

Can't wait to see it! It's going to be a stunning ring

So sorry to have missed the thread while traveling -- OMG OMG OMG!!!! I am so excited for you!!!

The pave is very pretty -- but go plain!!! You can always change it later if you decide you must -- but knowing your incredible taste -- plain will be exactly what the stone is calling for.

CONGRATULATIONS - Wear it in the very best of health and happiness!!!!!

Hermeshunter - thank you!

Swanky - Will do :smile1:

Ok, here's a really poor quality picture taken with my bb. Does not show the perfect cutting on this stone and the color is distorted as well. It's really spectacular IRL.

and this is the stone, the color is distorted in this picture, in person, it's very white.

If YOU don't grab this stone, I will personally come down and..........

get it myself!!!!!!!

It's GORGEOUS!!!!!!! Suits your personality ;)

And I'd have Christopher set it. The artist/cutter setting it would be spectacular and make it a real special piece.
