LOL...I showed my jeweler that picture when he asked me what I had in mind for a mounting.

That's when he told me about the criss cut and brought in some stones (both traditional step cut emerald and criss cut) so I could compare the two.

ame - it's a local jeweler who is getting the stone directly from the cutter.

It's a Crisscut emerald.

And thanks for the feedback on an H color stone. I'm hoping it's exactly what I'm looking for!!

OMG I AM DYING WITH ENVY!!! I LOVE those cuts. I told myself if I ever end up in the position to rebuy and I actually do buy a new e-ring Ill be getting a Crisscut asscher or cushion.

I think that it will be quite white facing up.

Livethelake, you have fabulous taste! And I have total faith in Christopher! Those European jewellers know what they're doing ;)

I have a feeling this H stone will be simply amazing! I cannot wait to see it. This is very exciting!

I am not a color snob at all. I am a cut snob though. I accually like warmer stones.
If it cut excelent, it will always face up whiter.

Sometimes it is hard to get out of the mindset that anything lower than an g is bad.
Hell I would do a K if I liked the stone.

Quick update.

Went to see the stone yesterday. It was white. Incredibly sparkly white.

It had a tiny bit of color when I held it over my finger using the tweezer holders (what is that called???) but when we put it on a piece of white paper, it was colorless. So when my jeweler said the crisscut faces two grades up, he was right.

We're going back to see it on Saturday and I think it will be mine :smile1:

Thanks for all the feedback on an H stone everyone

I know!!!

I was going to do a pave band (like the Reese ring) but the more I think about it, I'm leaning towards a plain platinum band for now.

Leon Mege has a mounting that I love. Modern and architectural.
