wow. if this bag were on its own without another to compare with i would not be able to tell. if the clutch were advertised as brass hw the only real difference by looks alone would be the tassels and the font on the leather tag, and that's not a whole lot of difference. it's shockingly similar.

Deco,

Great Photos! Very difficult to tell the difference - especially if it is an ebay auction and the photos aren't as clear and close up as yours are.

Thanks lol!

I hope you don't mind my teasing a bit - Those that know me here do know that I def. take the counterfeiting issue very seriously. I remember a while ago on the "authenticate this" thread there was another superfake makeup very similar this one photographed. If it wasn't for Deco coming in and helping, we might have made an error!!

Thanks Deco!!

I cannot thank you enough (and RDC) for posting these comparision pics.....they are so helpful and educational......wow, it´s scary how well the MU was done unless you got really really close!!

The fakes are getting so good. I thought I was learning how to tell, but I would never guess. To make it worse, even eBay seller with great feedback might not know either. Yikes! Thanks for posting!

Thanks for posting these information ... I am in search of a makup clutch and was looking on Ebay...now I will just wait until I get one from Balenciaga retailer or RDC !!!

It is getting harder to tell the fakes. My sister only buys fakes because she would rather spend money on her house. Sometimes when she wears them it's hard for me to tell the difference. I've always hated fakes even before getting into designer purses.

I was actually duped by a green MU with pewter hardware and unknowing sold it to someone as authentic. The MU is on it's way back to me right now and I'll be sure to photo and document as many of the details as I can. I had no idea MU's were ever faked. Luckily RDC posted the thread about the fake green first yesterday, as today is the 45th day since I won this bag on ebay. Which means I just made it under the wire in time to open a dispute with ebay/paypal (you only have 45 days). Apparently the seller had been told before the bag is fake and doesn't believe it (I've been told). The seller hasn't contacted me yet so I have yet to see how this will turn out. And as of now, I'm out $400.

Carolyn, I hope you get your money back . Mine was purchased for me by a dear friend for my birthday. It cost over $450 :push:. By the time my birthday rolled around and I received it, the time for disputing the sale on eBay was long over:sad:.

And isn't there something inherently fishy about a seller who's notified numerous times that his/her wares are fake and he/she arbitrarily continues to ASSERT authenticity without anything to back it up? Conscientious sellers immediately pull their listings and at least investigate. The ones who don't give a rat's a$$ are just out to get your money and don't care how.

That's terrible for both of you!
(Deco/Sunspark)

Just a reminder that is it ILLEGAL and FEDERAL OFFENSE to sell counterfeits.
If you still have the contact information from these sellers, can you contact them and threaten to file a police report if they don't refund??

Are these sellers still selling counterfeits?
