I am sorry for your experience. May I suggest you go to a university hospital for revision? I find they are a lot more professional and uncumbered by the politics of mainstream aethestic practice. They also have a high standard to adhere to which is reassuring.
University hospital? I've never heard this before-where can we get more information?

I am not sure why my comments was reported as off topic.

I was asking how to know the hospital is university hospital or is there university hospital to recommend?

yikes what a dick. i'm so sorry you had to go through all this trouble just because of one person.
i hope he gets cancelled big and never get praised on purseforum again. shame on him. thank you for exposing him, i was plannin to contact brian for my rhinoplasty but i'm gonna look for a different translator. thank you Joo.

Brian is a narcissistic sociopath and scammer.

Based on my observations, you've been cautioned numerous times, yet you chose to dismiss these warnings and persistently defended him. Despite being informed that he's presenting a false front and exploiting people, you seemed indifferent, stating something along the lines of 'it doesn't matter, he got me the deal I wanted.' Your consistent support and defense of him have led numerous victims his way. From the very beginning, he deceived and manipulated you. You became an unknowing accomplice in his entire scheme, manipulated into promoting him like a puppet.

Didn't you find it suspicious that Brian personally hired, trained, and turned Henry into the PS disaster he is now?

Allow me to explain how he conned you and the clinic.

You paid him a service fee to 'advocate' on your behalf (let's say $200).

Additionally, you paid him a bonus for 'negotiation' services 15% of what he saves you (let's say $500).

Then, using all your data, he approached the clinic with a deceptive front, presenting himself as an agency and asking for 30%.

So, how can he genuinely negotiate or advocate on your behalf? When lowering the price effects his bottom line? And if does lower it then he will be offset by the 15% savings bonus you give. He hides this from the clinic. The clinic is also a victim because they thought they are paying fees to Brian to advocate for them and interpret and take care of you. But in your mind you think your paying Brian to be some shield and sword to advocate for you.

In the end he pocketed a healthy chunk of your money you thought he was savings you. you say you paid $30K, Brian easily pocketed $13K.

That's the crux of scam.

Everyone Wake Up!

The suggestions some people are making - to contact Brian's spinoffs, knockoffs and wannabes - are absolutely absurd. And really shows the level of problem solving skills here, "Let's whack one mole, and then jump in bed with another?" Really????

All these interpreters getting bonuses off your fees exist because they saw what Brian was doing and wanted in, Brian invented this whole scheme and scam. And if you simply believe these Koreans whose kakao's get thrown around because "they sound genuine" and their charm. You probably should not go to Korea. Because you're a sucker in a scammers paradise. Learn from Joo.

I think best not to go tru any agency. Ask the clinic urself and make own judgment based on ur consultation with the translator/customer services officer and the surgeons.
there's nothing wrong with good agencies meaning the legit ones, meaning the ones NOT ran by Koreans. there's a handful of ones owned by foreigners that know how to treat and respect americans and canadians. how many people do you see here complaining about agencies who actually used one? Instead you see people saying don't use one, who not have actually used one. Brian is not an agency, he is an illegal, unlicensed broker pretending to be an independent interpreter for patients, and pretending to be a phony agency for clinics. Brian is not a canadian, he's one of these koreans that get shipped off overseas to study and return to korea screwed up and confused.

He's a criminal, and if you actually study the posts to he made through his fake accounts and kakao messages. you can see him try to steer people away from agencies and government interpreter centers to perpetuate this whole independent interpreter salt of the earth myth, that they're bad and he's good.

I mean IMO through agency the clinics usually will charge higher due to they having to give commission to the agency.

Some agencies might have their own preferred clinics/hospitals to go to.

Hey I'd like to gather more information about these claims! Is there anyway I can contact you privately?

You’re right I did choose to hire Brian. But I want to make this clear. When news first broke out about Brian the community was extremely divided. I’m sure a lot of people who were present during the group chats can attest to this. Everyone was giving different opinions-positive and negative. I got lots of dms from both sides but a lot of the people who were warning me not to hire Brian were giving me extremely cryptic messages with no evidence. Some of them started getting extremely rude and defensive when I simply asked them if they can back up their claims and would just personally attack me and say extremely racist things. Of course when people speak to you in this way i will be less inclined to believe their experience when they avoid giving proof and are racist. How do I know which random stranger to trust when they are behind a screen. All the while one party is sending only accusations and no proof or context. I was torn. In hindsight of course it’s easy to say I should’ve known better but in all honesty I didn’t know who to trust cause no one wanted to give me their TRUTH. At the end of the day the community at large needed transparency. Even now after this post I’ve been getting a plethora of private messages but lots of people being reluctant to share their experience or get involved. Shaming people will only encourage people to stay silent and we need to recognize these toxic behaviours. And of course after my first good experience with him I would think the people who were being cryptic and attacking me in my dms were lying. We can argue back and fourth and yes I am naive but that is who I am as a person I always want to give people the benefit of the doubt. I’m sure we’ve all made mistakes in our lives and by how you speak I can tell you’ve been affected by Brian in one way or another. That’s why I’m trying to be very transparent and clear and give my entire experience to whoever reads and wants to see the full truth. I never had the luxury of that and I can tell you a lot of my friends and I were on the same boat. I wish someone was more upfront but no one wanted to tell their story. I don’t want to argue with you cause at the end of the day I messed up by hiring him and referring him but I’m trying to make things right. And like you said “im egg faced and tripped over my own sword” but Atleast im not letting my pride stop me from making things right and not letting people go through the same thing I did.

Recognizing your mistake is the first step towards rectification, and your efforts to make things right and prevent others from making the same mistake is commendable. Indeed, we all trip and stumble sometimes. What matters is that we learn and grow from these experiences. You're doing exactly that, and your sharing of your experiences will certainly serve as a cautionary tale to others.

To be honest, it's instances like these that exhaust the seasoned members of our community, who find themselves repeating warnings and guidance to newcomers who fall victim to recurring scams. People often demand irrefutable proof before heeding caution or learning from the wisdom of those who came before them. You've collected an array of evidence. Wouldn't it be simple if you could just share all of that here? The screenshots, conversations with friends who used his services? However, it's not that straightforward, given that you obtained this information confidentially, and sharing it could jeopardize your sources and their safety. Perhaps this is why people didn't readily provide evidence when they tried to warn you.

Stop the Cycle

Now that this scam has been revealed, look at the community's response - many are gravitating towards the next imitator of Brian. "Hey, sorry that happened instead use, 'Lyan, Rian, Kylan, Shylan, etc...'." No matter how many times you caution them to learn from what happend to you that if it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it's probably a duck, there will always be someone ready to argue, "No, it's a Swan!"

It's so absurd. They'll even defend someone they've never even hired, let alone met, like the gal who went to ILAC, who relentlessly supports a certain translator who fits the same profile as Brian, simply because that translator disseminates cookie cutter generic advice in a group chat they made, claiming they are not participating in the same hustle as Brian, and don't take commissions.

These are the type of people who, when advised to hang up on telemarketing calls from unfamiliar Nigerian numbers promising free government money, might argue, "Not all Nigerian telemarketers are bad, and this one sounds quite genuine, and he's giving me free advice."

Nothing is free. He is giving you free advice and looking innocent in exchange for your trust, compliance, and shielding his scheme from skeptics, which the aforementioned blindly does now. These pf translators are evil men who wear masks because they prey on your faith in humanity and use it for their own greed.
