I have to bring up one thing that she got terribly wrong. The brass WILL NOT mold! It may corrode like any other metal can, but only the leather and canvas could mold if left in a humid and dark area. Again, like any other bag would.

My Sister bought a good one from e-bay I think it was called Kannie or cannie's guide she said it was really helpfull and there is another good one I can't think of the name but I will try and find it and post it.

The seller is caannie - and her book is EXCELLENT. It comes highly recommended from me

Actually, after the brass corrodes the substance produced by the corrosion does mold. I've seen this with extremely vintage speedies I've sold, they actually do mold, as do some of the inner pockets. Around the brass the corrosion turns green if left a long while without being used. The moldy substance has a significant smell, very similar to an old, musty attic.

Come on your are selling a guide on eBay. You are doing a great job.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=102483&item=9522344510

But it's not an advertising forum.

You even put your eBay link as a signature. Once again very nice actions but not here.

We have a couple of members here who have their eBay pages linked in their signature. Is LL the only one who should be attacked for it?

Also, she is not advertising her guide or any of her auctions. She didn't start this thread, urging everyone to buy her guide or the items she has listed. Someone else started this thread, commending her on a job well done on an informative page on how to tell a fake from the real thing. No need to go out of your way to be rude

I agree 100% about Carol's guide (she's caanine on ebay). Her guide is THE best in my humble opinion.

The green stuff is corrosion as well. I'm very familiar with this as I grew up around hundreds of brass, copper, iron and bronze antique pieces around the house, and they have to be maintained.

As I originally said though, the leather and canvas can easily mold if left in a humid and dry place. Any bag would.
