Evercolor Leather

I just turned down a beautiful Bolide bag in evercolor as the SA told me it was a ‘delicate' leather and would not age gracefully. Now after reading this thread, I am feeling bad about turning it down. Looking for some advise from those who have used it. Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately the information you've got is wrong. This is what I get on Hermes leather guide from an Hermes expert site: "Evercolor, introduced in 2012, is known for its color vibrancy and hue saturation. The soft, satin-like appearance has a tight, pressed grain. While it is similar to both Epsom and Togo, Evercolor is less rigid than Epsom, with a pressed grain similar to the naturally-grained Togo texture." I can testify this. My Kelly is so soft, but very durable. It has grains much smaller and more sophisticated look than the Togo leather.

I agree with the last two posters. Evercolor has a nice small grain to it and feels luxurious. It is one of my favorite (if not full favorite?) leathers H offers. It’s not rigid so it won’t pucker the way Epsom does. It’s got a smaller grain and lighter in weight than clemence. It takes color amazingly and won’t look “dry” or have veins the way Togo sometimes does. Its supple but not smooth like Swift so imperfections/scratches blend more easily. And though vibrant it doesn’t have a sheen or a spine like chèvre. And unlike heritage leathers, it comes in amazing colors. I think I just convinced myself it is my fav H leather

Thank you so much. I have no idea why the SA I spoke to said it was very delicate, she didn’t want me to regret it and that I should be worried about colour transfer. In fact I was quite shocked as my SA was away and she had asked me to go into the store as she had put the bag on reserve.

Thanks so much. I have now messaged my SA again to ask her if I could still get the bag. It is just a gorgeous bag and exactly the specs I wanted. However, after hearing the negative comments from the other SA I was scared as I don’t know so much about this leather.

I actually researched evercolor too just a couple of weeks ago, as my SA had a Constance To Go in it. And was pleasantly surprised at how durable it seems to be. So when you first posted in the local thread about what the SA said I was a bit taken back... But it reminds me that our tpf members often know more than most SAs. Always trust our tpf crew

Hello ! I have an Evercolor lindy and though I do t wear it as much as my other bags I find it keeps less well. I have whitish marks in areas where the back gold of the lindy is in contact with clothes and these don’t go away with gentle ginger rubbing. Was wondering if anyone with the same issues had given their bags to Hermès spa and got good results in restoring their former glory. Many thanks for your thoughts

I live in Germany and on the official German Hermès Website, they write Evercolor with time "gets softer and RUBS OFF" - which sounds really bad but at least honest in my opinion.

I confirm! I have an Evercolor lindy and though I don’t wear it as much as my other bags I find it keeps less well. I have whitish marks in several areas and in particular where the back of the lindy rubs against clothes. These marks don’t go away with gentle finger rubbing so i guess the leather simply rubbed off as you say. Was wondering if anyone with the same issues had given their bags to Hermès spa and got good results in restoring their former glory. Many thanks for your thoughts

Please read this thread on how to fix it. ;)
