I'm at the store at least 3 times a week and there's also no line. When people walk in they get assigned a CA. Since I'm a regular I just walk in and browse on my own until my CA is done with the client that he's currently helping. I do find it strange that there's no line, maybe 2 or 3 people at the most. Last year, the line was 15-20 deep.
It’s the same for me here in California. My store is fairly quiet and I’m just able to walk in each time and browse.

I think people are definitely buying less. Their new collections are not selling out as fast and I see a lot more canvas in store. The reverse PM has been sitting there the past two weeks. My CA said they received 10, which is unheard of. I also saw the reverse OTG sitting on the shelf for days. It could be due to the upcoming recession, people using money for other things, or just tired of the price increases and going to other brands.

I agree, it’s probably a bit of all of those things combined. Gas prices here in CA are $6+/gal. I do feel like I saw a lot more canvas in store as well.

If you ever have the chance to visit the leased boutiques that are inside certain department stores in the states (ie Neiman Marcus etc) you might be lucky enough to find a bag that is marked down. But shoes and accessories are common sale items especially seasonal pieces in odd sizes that didn’t sell. I have scored quite a few items this way. I also have small feet.
Ahh good to know! It is also happening in Europe same time?

I believe I was replying to clairem’s post that was referring to the impending semi annual sale at stand alone corporate-owned Chanel stores that starts tomorrow in Europe. As far as I know, all of Neiman Marcus stores exist only in the US. Chanel is a leased department in that store. You would have to shop in person though and their promotions do not always follow the flagship stores.
