Well it’s not illegal and actually it’s Good for the environment. Instead of throwing things away upcycling is a nice option imo.I wonder what LV and Gucci think about this. Flattered or fuming?

Agree. I guess it's only problematic if you're selling commercially?Well it’s not illegal and actually it’s Good for the environment. Instead of throwing things away upcycling is a nice option imo.
I mean sometimes it’s better to reuse things again.

Well seeing that LV won’t repair cracked canvas, maybe the rest of the intact piece could be up cycled into something useful for the client instead of wasting the bag. Maybe this will push LV to offer more creative solutions in their repair offerings.Well it’s not illegal and actually it’s Good for the environment. spot the minis galore
Nike filed a trademark infringement in federal court against a rapper because he altered one of their shoes (nicknamed satan shoe because it had a vial of blood in it). I am no lawyer, but I think if it was a one off to a client it’s no problem because it’s like a bespoke piece and his individual artistic interpretation or intellectual property. But you are correct it became a problem because he mass produced and sold it commercially to the public online the same item. Limited releaese but still. I think the case got settled out of court.Agree. I guess it's only problematic if you're selling commercially?
My bet is they would likely not burn the unsold items any longer. They would be inspired to upcycle unsold items to limited edition one-off pieces?I wonder what LV and Gucci think about this. Flattered or fuming?

LV started the “be mindful collection” with this in mind using scraps of left-over material. This may be the push they need to further expand on that. The selection of products is woefully limited though. They have a scrunchy for sale and bracelets but in the description there is disclaimer that the product shown may not be like the one you receive. Makes sense since it’s made of random pieces of material. Just saying. My bet is now they will no longer burn the unsold items.
