Etoupe - Paladium vs Gold hardware

The nice thing about Étoupe is that it's such a true neutral that it works with either hardware.

Therefore, one can easily choose one's preferred HW. I prefer PHW in my bags but think PHW and GHW are equally good with Étoupe. One can think of it as similar to Gold, as bags with the Naturel contrast stitch tend to look more sporty and fresh with PHW and a bit more formal with GHW.

FWIW I do NOT like RGHW with Étoupe, it accentuates the color's tendency toward muddiness.

I actually like it better with RGHW than GHW, because I feel like it pops more and makes etoupe look less yellowy beige than GHW but that's just me! (I have it with rghw in a roulis double tour bracelet that I use as a choker.) I also prefer rghw to ghw for my skin tone which is pinkish. ^_^

Thanks!Yes, this was one of my concerns with Etoupe - the tendency towards muddiness. I don’t have any Etoupe and at my boutique we don’t have opportunities to see colour options. I love neutrals, and had asked initially for Gris Etain as my number one, but my SA suggested Etoupe (perhaps it’s easier to get?). I’m not a huge fan of the white stitching but feel that it wouldn’t be a dealbreaker with a gorgeous neutral. It’s so hard to get bags at my boutique that I have to be very open to colour options but at the same time I don’t want to find that I don’t like it in the end - after waiting all this time.

PHW for etoupe and gold is always my 1st choice for a modern, clean look plus it matches with the contrast stitching. To each their own though, I understand that GHW is a classic look too. Get whatever that screams "YES!" to you.

I'll be honest, I do not like Étoupe for myself, but I understand it's very popular. Étain I love although like Étoupe, it varies a lot by dye lot. If you're dubious about this color choice definitely stand firm as it's no fun to be disappointed in a color!

I didn't realise the colour varied so much by dye lot, and same with Etain. That makes it even trickier! I guess sometimes it must come down to an on the spot decision…

Which boutique is your home store, may I ask?

I’m in Canada. We have only a handful of boutiques and receive very low inventory, sadly.

But, this is simply personal preference.
I used to wear WG jewelry and switched to YG, so now bag hw and jewelry are mixed metal
