Hello I am torn between getting a single solitaire diamond eRing or one with smaller side stones, tapered baguettes. For you ladies out there who have already made the decision I would love to hear how you chose and why you think one style is better for you than the other.

single stone - the extra money you would spend for the side stones you could use that and get a bigger stone. I have the diamond side stones and I don't like it. I'm going to get a new setting someday with a semiprecious stone like garnet on the sides for more contrast. I would get the most gorgeous single diamond and later you can always have it reset if you want something on the side.

I prefer the side stones, it's all personal preference though. After you try them on IRL... you will definitely know which ring speaks to you.. so don't rule either one out yet. goOd luck.. and have fun while ur at it..!!

I prefer the tapered baquettes, especially with a larger stone. It just seems to "flow"
nicely and takes away from the size of the stone looking light a headlight. It's simple while being elegant. JMHO!

I'd rather have side stones to balance out the main stone. I like the tapered look - like shanam mentioned ^

My dream ring has a brilliant round with two pear sidestones...

I LOVE round with pear sides but I really don't like tapered baguettes... they look very clunky to me, not graceful. JMO, don't mean to offend anyone who does like/have them, they just aren't my choice.

my e-ring looks exactly like the 2nd picture! :smile1:

personally, the first setting looked funny on my finger so he choose the 2nd, but we both didnt know how it was gonna look like until he collected the ring. the setting was a surprise (we went to choose the rock together, i showed him several settings i liked & asked him to choose but this setting wasn't one of them at all! :p). we were both worried it might looked weird but we both love it :yahoo:

price-wise, i know the extra 2 diamonds didnt cost much. it wouldnt be enough for a significantly bigger rock. i like that the side diamonds dont take away too much attention from the big rock.

go try both settings, if you can! i think that will be the best way to decide which you prefer :smile1:

I have a solitaire. I almost changed to a three-stone this year and talked myself out of it. I think when we are more well-off and choose to "upgrade" that it'll come up again.

I wasn't happy with how a three stone (rounds, pears or baguettes) looked next to my wedding ring so I decided to stay with my classic solitaire.

that's my dream too!!! the 20 k plus one! if i and when i get it, i'll show you girls right away.

to answer your question lebagfairy, i really like the solitaire compared to the bagu. on the side, i really really don't like how the bagu. looks...., however, you probably don't like how the two pairs look on the sides which i love. so, it's really your choice. well, at least we both agree on the round brilliant center stone:p

lebag, keep in mind that the center stone w/the side stones probably would look just as big as a solitar center stone that is heavier. :wtf:, you know why? because the cetner stone w/the side stones has a four prong, making it look larger:tup::p
