Hi there, it’s actually a very interesting observation! I inspected a few of my pieces and there are indeed very slight design differences. Based on that, I know it’s not a matter of authenticity. So it could be different seasons, or products have some differentiation? Or maybe down to a quality control issue?

Not entirely sure- but perhaps pose this question to a Prada authenticator (in the Prada forum). It would be very interesting to see if they have any knowledge or a definitive answer!

Aerdem, I’ve seen some of your gorgeous handbags in some other TPF threads and am happy to find another both clutch and Bvlgari lover on these boards.

A few years ago I was going to purchase your Blvgari mirrored silver Serpenti Forever bag in the clutch version but the one they had for sale at my boutique had a very visible dent on the front and there wasn’t another one left in the entire country - I still mourn that loss! I consoled myself with the large forest green leopard print karung Serpenti Forever bag instead but I still hope to find the mirrored silver clutch again day.

A question about your gold BV Knot with the patch of colour on it that resembles a Rothko painting (sorry I don’t remember the name of this style) - is yours gold with black or gold with blue? It’s difficult to tell from your photos. I’ve been looking to get that Knot for awhile now but can’t decide whether I want it with the black or blue so would love to hear about yours and what your colour combination is.

Needless to say you have a stunning and uniquely personal collection.

Oooh your bvlgari bag sounds stunning, would love to see a picture

Moravia, thank you for taking the time to connect.. and such complimentary words.

I’m wondering if you are open to searching the re-sale market for the Bvlgari clutch? I actually found my mirrored silver in a consignment store while on holiday in Japan. (The BEST consignment in any country I’ve had the pleasure of visiting).

I’ve also found some incredible pieces through online auction and consignment (I’d estimate only 20% of my pieces are “in boutique retail”). Typically I need to go that route in order to find rare/past season/etc… I’d love for you to be able to locate that clutch- it’s exquisite!! And your karung serpenti is absolutely incredible as well.

My knot is gold with black detail. I love that you reference a Rothko painting- this was actually the basis of my immediate connection with that particular knot! Fellow fine art lover! Love it. The edges are so intricate when you view them up close and personal. It’s difficult to appreciate how beautiful it is until you see it live. Definitely go for any color combination you are drawn to- a very special piece.

I’d love if you’d keep me updated if/when you acquire either bag. They are both standouts!

Thanks very much for the resale suggestions. Yes, I have been considering going this route for Bvlgari and TM-era Bottega Veneta pieces but I haven't taken the plunge yet (I have never purchased from a resale site before) as I am particular about condition and I'm also concerned about authenticity. I've been reading some reviews of resale sites on the TPF boards and some posters will say they have had a great experience with a particular site and others will say that they have had a terrible one. So sometimes it seems like a crapshoot! If you have any recommendations regarding any good Bvlgari/Bottega Veneta resale sites and you feel comfortable disclosing them please feel free to DM me.

I'll definitely be looking out for the mirrored Serpenti Forever clutch - when you keep thinking about a bag 6+ years on you know that it's one that would be a keeper.

Regarding the gold BV Knot - great minds think alike as the Rothko association is the first thing that came to mind when I saw it! I've been leaning towards the gold with black as I feel that it would work better with my wardrobe but all of the colours in that particular line looked spectacular.

I'll definitely post an update with photos if I'm able to acquire these bags (but in the meantime we can admire your beauties). Fingers crossed!
