Definitely don't think you should reset, that is a beautiful classic setting! My mother has a similar setting from Harry Winston that I’ve admired for years!!! Her center diamond isn’t nearly as large as this one I think it’s a 3carat or in that ball park.Sure, here you go!

That's a great idea to make the original into a pendant - that way you can wear it alongside another e-ring too. Over the years, I've gotten into the idea of multiple e-rings. Sometimes I want a change/different look, and sometimes for travel I want something simpler and without prongs to catch on things. The square shapes you have are very eye-catching - thanks for sharing.
